I've hunted yotes and stuff all my life. Mainly my experience is limited to shooting them out of the window of my truck when I see them. (So I guess its not really hunting) But I had an idea for you folks that like to call them.

You could set your foxrpo out and do your rabbit in distress call or whatever, then have a stuff teddy bear or rabbit laying by it. You could be in the brush with a fishing pole with the line tied to the stuffed animal and kinda shake and wiggle the rod to make it look like the animal is injured.

Thinking this might help coax the varmints out during the daytime when they are a little skittish.

Anyone else think this would work?

I think the only problem would be them seeing the fishing pole moving around.

They make decoys that are mounted on a pole that spin and flop around.

I was thinking cover it in camo duct tape. Have guy #2 back in the bush working the rod and foxpro remote.. Rest of group can be sitting ready to shoot.

I think I'm going to give this thing a shot.

One of those big white $20 catfish rods from walmart would work great.

$20 would put a dent in buying a decoy that wouldn't require you to do anything besides watch...

Or....for FREE.....tie stips of cloth together and tie them on a coat hanger that has been straightened. If you need movement, tie some monofilament fishing line to it and yank it yourself! Been doing that for years.....!

No kidding, like half at least. Plus, moving a big old rod will make a lot of movement to pick up by ANY animal that sees it, wheteher it's camo or not.

Mmmm Hmmm

A simple turkey feather tied to a stake with mono-filimant flopping in the breeze has killed many a coyote.

For years I successfully used a brown plastic grocery bag stuck to the ground w/ an old tent stake. Worked good too! Don't know what the 'yotes thought it was but it would usually hold their attention. I recently upgraded to a mojo critter and must say that it works better!

I've done this a couple of times, once recently, and it worked well. I didn't have any monofilament to tie it with, so I used a piece of grass! It worked long enough to do the job

I admire your creativity. I did the same thing! But whatever I designed either required movement on my part to activate it, required me purchasing a electronic toy of some kind to frankenstein it into a decoy or was just to hard to carry into the field! With decoys like the MOJO Critter for $40 bucks, there is little room for improvement. I do have a buzzard feather and some thread that stays in my hunting bag. But when your MOJO is doing work, it is hard to beat!!
