I put a hole in my waders this year about the same size.. I used marine silicone.. Dried it off with a hair dryer and put layer after layer on it and it still holds up. That happened Thankgiving day. I would put a layer on it and blow cold air from the hair dryer, hot air would mess it up.

Waders have a pretty short life. Patching and fixing helps but after a while the only fix is to start over with a new pair.
I now keep a few pairs on hand...some with known leaks that I'll take on hunts where I know I won't be standing in water for long periods. When I know I don't have to get into water until I'm picking up decoys it's a good time to test the fixes I've made. It took me about 3 tries to fix one pair.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

Apply shoe goo, let it dry, repeat a few times, just to be safe. I have a few pair and one of them is an old pair that looks like it's polka dotted on the inside because of all the reapirs and they work just fine.

I have a 1 inch slice in my neoprene waders. How do I fix? The Old Duck Hunters and fly fisherman would put bucket of water in their waders and then used a baker’s rolling pin to pin the water and create pressure by rolling the pin down from top to bottom while the waders were on a hard flat surface. This created pressure and caused a steam of water to flow out of any hole. The more pressure the easier it is to find the holes.
While this still works today the problem with this method is that most repair glues work much better when your waders are completely dry plus few of us want any more water in our waders than is already there as it takes too long to dry when we're afield.
I’ve found that instead of flooding waders with water to find the leak, instead find a completely dark interior room, hopefully without any windows or ambient light. Maneuver a very intense flashlight inside your waders to find any and all small pinholes. Your waders will act like a planetarium and the resulting visible light will make it easy to see the actual pinholes that need repair.
The technique works best when the room is small and completely black. If you stand close enough to a wall or mirror and move the waders around the light will show up on the wall or mirror just like a constellation in a planetarium. The light will also show up on the waders but using a wall, mirror, or a second set of eyes to help find the holes make it easy to stay dry.
Also for field repairs Academy and other similar stores sell wader repair glue, Aquaseal, that is UV activated that works in a few minutes that works great for small field repairs. I used it last week and it held all week while I was hunting flooded fields up north.
