I had a couple buddies from Dallas hunt with me Saturday morning. No wind and birds landed everywhere except in range. We ended shooting 7 but lost one. It was ugly.

I went back out that afternoon with the layout to see if I could get a little closer to where they wanted to be and got a couple more.

This morning was wet. I was supposed to have an 11 mph NE wind but it never came. I did manage to get one out of a group that came in. Should have doubled, but I didn't.

I put him in the freezer, I'm considering substituting him for the banded bird I shot a few days ago and having it mounted with the band. I don't know yet.

Off work tomorrow and will try again. Not a whole lot of birds in the air lately.

Personally I'm a fan of mounting the first bird, unless his heads blown off.

his head was blown up, no way I could mount him.

I may not mount this one, he is a nice bird, and I've never had anything mounted.

I don't know if I want to spend the money on taxidermy though.

butterscotch schnapps and Shiner Holiday Cheer for after the hunt.

the 250 is for hogs, coyotes, and trouble makers in general.
