Maybe they can swallow them. I don't think anything can eat em. Thats one tough nut to crack right there.

Hogs love them! Biggest hog I ever shot was coming out of the woods behind my parents' house at night to eat hickory nuts in their pasture. Dogs barking at 1:30 am doesn't make for a good night's sleep. So my dad asked me to come shoot it. It showed up right on time, I got out of bed, shot it in the neck, went back to bed. I could hear it popping those hickory nuts as I was lining up the cross hairs. No such thing as a free lunch, or a midnight snack either! He weighed around 400 pounds, and we had to use my dad's winch truck to pick him up. Interestingly, he had been de-nutted when he was young, and had almost no scent at all. So technically he was a Barr.
