Longest shot on deer for me, 75 yards.
Longest shot on game for me 284 per range finder. Auodad at a dead run uphill. I had someone spotting for me. I took the first shot, he told me where it hit, I adjusted and took the second shot and blew it off the cliff. 375 H&H with 270gr soft points. I would have never tried that shot on a deer. I cant even give a good reason why I had the H&H out that day.
North of Del Rio on the Devils River. 18,000 acres free range.
Sorry for the extra info. It was just my favorite hunt in memory.

Yep, best hunt ever. We hunted, checked out the lake, drove down to the border, drank patron and ate rib-eye. Just got a phone call one day and a buddy of mine said "hey you want to go?". It was a free trip. All it cost me was ammo. That trip is why im not against taking the guy hunting on the other thread.

There was a time when I lived in central tx that we shot long range, out to 1500 yds, on metal cut outs. I shot about 100 rounds a week and got pretty good. 7 years later, missed a hog at 457, per range finder. That said it's knowing distance and good glass, but mostly lots of practice. Ethically, each individual has to make the call for themselves. Long range shooting is way addicting tho. We had lots of fun.
Dozer, mulched, and trackhoe work. Fencelines, senderos, tanks. Let me know if I can help with any dirtwork or construction.
