I Read a hog Atractant recipe on here several months ago and decided to try it. We have 3 or 4 big groups of hogs in our area. We have a 5 acre man made pond that we are afraid in the future are going have major problems with runoff/erosion due to the hogs rooting up the bank of the pond. So i made a 30'x20' hog trap (overkill?) and was trying different attractants to see what brought me the most success. So i looked on here for one and this is what i found and tried 1 bottel of BIG RED SODA, brown sugar, molasis and corn. The first week i had the hog trap set we caught 17 hogs. Now the only thing i can think of about that recipe that works is the Big Red Soda. Due to its overpowering sweet smell the hogs are able to smell it from great distances. beleive it or not the Deer love it to put it out a couple weeks ago and the deer are still licking the spot on the ground where i poured it. I dont know if i just poured it at the right place and time and got lucky or if it really does work better than others but it is good stuff.

May have to give it a try. Traps have been slow here lately. Caught a couple this last weekend.

the molasis and brown sugar is really just for taste. The BIG RED SODA is they key sometime i will just poor it on the ground in the trap which i think is better than anything else because i poured 1 liter of big red in my trap and i was catching hogs for 3 weeks off that 1 liter of soda because the ground absorbs it but yet the scent stays. And on the size of the pigs i have caught everything from piglets up to 300 pounders. Im telling you guys if you have pigs in your area this stuff works wonders

The only reason i mix brown sugar and molasis is that when i pour it straight onto the ground sometimes the hogs and deer dont like to like dirt so i mix with corn brown sugar and molasis sothey have something to eat

I am going to the ranch this weekend and will see what we get
