I am wanting to change the feeder pens at my place, currently using 4 strands of barbed wire. I am thinking of using hog panels. Are these tall enough at 36in to keep cows out and short enough for yearlings to get in.. any suggestions or pics would be great

Depends on the range conditions on your cattle and the cattle. They will let yearlings in as early as 6 or so weeks age but most will jump in at around 3 or 4 months. Build the pen large enough to keep the cattle as far away from the feeders as you can. Under most applications 34" will be tall enough.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

If cows are hungry enough they will jump. cut out bottom to squares by 2 sq. and small deer will go under leave the bottom wire there just cut out a couple of sq. Big deer will also go under.

Thanks for the info guys, u want to make it as easy on the deer as possible. The cows don really mess with them now. I want to use 8 panels on each feeder pen. Just wanna make sure that 36 inches will be tall enough.

Weve used hog panels for 9 yrs and never had a problem with cows jumping ever! And our land owner doesn't even hardly feed his cows!! But we do use 16 20' panels which keeps feeders away from the edges!!!

One thing I have noticed about feed pens around spin feeders, is that they are usually not big enough.
I think that for spin feeders, the pen should be large enough, that the farthest thrown kernel of corn does not go outside the pen.
Preferrably, the pen should be at least five feet farther out than the farthest thrown piece of corn.
If the cattle aren't able to pick any corn up, they should not develope a taste for it.
From there, the question is do you want to keep hogs away from the feeders also.
