Walmart had some of the Winchester White box 45 gr HP's in 40 round boxes for about $24. I have had good luck with those in the past.

There's so much I don't know that I don't even know what I don't know.

+1...USA made, real reloadable brass, real copper jacketed HP.
Russky stuff uses a STEEL jacket that is copper plated.

True, it is a steel jacket. But do the math and you'll see that if you count your time at al you can't reload the 223 for this.

Why go with cheap bullets for a hunt? The Winchesters mentioned above works really good! And thats a pretty cheap price for accurate hunting ammo.

If your concerned about cheap bullets for a hunt, then why not go ahead and get a more efficient caliber as well?
But as for the Winchesters, are they HPBT?

Re the Russky 20/$4.10 ammo:
You can reload for real close..assuming you saved some brass, or a good non-reloading friend gave ya some smile
Using a Varmint Nightmare / Extreme 50-55gr soft point, or their 55gr HP, from Midsouth Supply...
Bullet $0.09/each
Primer $0.03/ea
Powder $0.07/per load
$0.19/each, give or take for purchase variables

Premium bullets will jump the per bullet price up to $0.14-0.16 each.

At Cabela's they have Ultramax 52gr HP's real cheap...$20.00ish for a box of 50. As accurate as the BlackHills 52gr MHP with better performance on coyotes(IME). UltraMax was started by an exemployee of BlackHills that left to start his own business.

I'm grooving on Bitterroot Valley Ammunition Company (BVAC) right now. Going to go do some testing with it one afternoon this week, but it gets great reviews and uses premium bullets.

Very good point buy a lot of the cheapest brass stuff you can get then reload it. Its actually just fun for me to load up my own ammo, but it is a lot funner to shoot it so I did bought a lot of cheap brass ammo then just started reloading. when hunting I agree you wont find all if any of your brass, but unless your like me and just fire 30 rounds at that dang hog that got away, or maybe just for the fun of it, you'll only shoot one maybe two rounds. There was a guy in Georgetown on here that had a whole bunch of ammo all mixed stuff for like 325 per 1000 I got 2000 rounds off of him and so far it has all been ok to fire, and reload.

Trust me, I'm not like you grin

I rarely, if ever, encounter a single hog. Almost always large groups, and I get as close as possible. I can easily run through a mag before they get out of sight...

Hey KC, I've been shooting the Bitterroot Valley stuff and found it to be pretty good. I bought some 75grain and figured it wouldn't be as accurate as 55grain and I was wrong.

Whatcha mean? How wrong? I went with the 64 gr, but only because I couldn't find the 75 gr sold in bulk anywhere. It's the same bullet Hornady uses in their TAP loads.

What kind of rifle are you shooting? Twist rate?

Somewhat he did, Nice classic mushroom in black gumbo dirt, BVAC.

Tula 55gr JHP mushroomed from the rear, nose & HP still intact
after passing thru target cardboard.

Silver Bear 62gr JHP expanded and fragmented in same black gumbo.

KC is like a little kid, he likes playing in the dirt/mud rofl
