We were hunting in West Texas in mesa country one year and right at dark, the 3 of us in the jeep saw what we thought was a jet flying close to the rimrock going from south to the north. We were looking up at it from a distance. We all commented on how low it was and right when it should have cleared the background of the mesa and been easy to see, it disappeared. We never saw it against the clear sky. Needless to say we sort of went home early that day. Really weird,

last fall a buddy and me were hunting RR and before legal hunting light we swear we saw this ball of light bouncing around, coming towards/away from us (even thought it might be a helicopter). It was not until daylight that we realized it was a light on top of a water tower.

It's not skybusting, if you make the shot.

Here are a couple of things that seem wierd or odd. First, once my wife and I were traveling and were near a good size river and saw something unusual in the water. There was something in the water swimming across, all you could see was something moving; I couldn’t make it out. As we watched, we saw a heard of whitetail deer get out of the water on the other side. I never knew whitetail deer were proficient swimmers but they can if they need to, I guess.

Another unusual sight; I used to hunt where other hunters had to drive by my hunting area and I stayed out longer than others and sometimes its good, cause it might scare something up and sometimes it could be bad. Well, this particular morning I was watching this young buck eat corn and frolic with other deer, when my buddies loud a** truck drove by, the deer seemed conditioned to hiding as it squatted on all four behind some brush, until the truck was long gone and then it popped up and continued with life. Then as the corn disappeared the buck attempted to jump a fence but hit the top wires and fell almost directly back on its antlers. If it was muddy it may have stuck into the mud but the little buck jumped up, just as people do when they do something embarrassing and looked around, but he shook his head like it hurt and I bet it did. This time he decided to walk the fence line and find another place to cross. I think I may have this on video if someone could advise me how to make it avaialble, maybe we can do it.

Pre-dawn in late October '03; I was opening a gate (looking down at the lock) to go to my stand when I thought I had been hit by a spotlight. The entire world glowed with an eerie BRIGHT blue light. I flinched when it happened and then it was gone. When I regained my composure (and checked my drawers) I looked up to see a HUGE smoke contrail straight overhead from horizon to horizon. A near miss for the 'ol home planet, I guess.

Going fishing one morning with a Buddy of mine, he was in the garage when I walked out of his house that wee early a.m. and he was white as a ghost. He was in his garage at the overhead door sitting in a chair having a cup of coffee and smoke and was petting what he thought was his cat at his feet, then his cat walks in from outside and arches up. He looks down and the cat he was petting had a white stripe down his back. We still laugh at that one.

Not to unusual but duck hunting one year right after the drought 6-7 years ago well we had the normal texas turd floaters for the fall, we had gone to the duck blind to hunt just to realize (most of you have seen pic of the blind) we're looking down and into the blind. Obviously were not hunting there so we headed north around a point, we got close to the bank and Geno decides he'll check the water depth. He grabs a 8 ft pole we use to retrieve decoys and checks the depth....2-3 ft maybe he says so he jumps right in, an then he's gone completely out of sight (other than the ripples on the water). He then pops up, grabs the side of the boat and crawls in and in the same breath says "I didn't even get wet". Now that was a classic moment. Later we figured he must have hit the top of a tree stump giving him the warm fuzzy he had about the depth.

3 of us at our deer lease off of FM 1024 between juno and pandale are laying on the bed of a lowboy trailer since we hadnt brought our camper down yet. We are laying there looking at the sky with all the stars and then there is this big bright white flash...huh weird but ok whatever, flashes real bright again, k..hmmm what is that....then it just shoots off in a stream of red and green lights...ok what the H**L was that!! Still have no idea but its always on our minds!!

Another weird one is we had a big hole in the ground on the same place, it was solid rock walls all the way down, never quite sure what it was. My dad put a big boar javelina he shot down there because he didnt want to mess with it, so it was an easy convenient disposal place for him...next day we were going to go look at it but it was gone!! I saw him put it in there so I know he wasnt lying! We were going to go down and look in the hole a few days earlier, might have been a good thing that we didnt. Might have severely pissed off a big cat or possible mexican black bear(they were there, we saw one)!!

There's an old mine on my lease. All the guys think it's a gold mine but I think it was a granite mine. It's about 8 feet square and goes straight down in the top of a ridge about 40 feet. At the bottom, there's a tunnel that goes off in one direction. Suppposedly, it was dug in the 1930s. The tailing piles consist of about 5 different colors of rocks and they are piled up based on their color.

Only things keeping me from exploring are:
How to get to the bottom.
How to get back out (more important!)
Is there good air down there.
Are there evil critters down there.
Common sense.
My wife won't let me.

This happened been about 20 years ago. I was sitting in my deer stand in Kingsland, Tx. one afternoon and it was a suttle afternoon about 60 degrees as I recall. At that time part of our lease butted up against some property that was owned by Lyndon B. Johnson. What this has to do with anything is beyond me! All of a sudden I hear a rumbling coming from behind me (south) so I turned to look and here comes an F-4 Phantom, unmistaleable at 400 feet, making a bomb straifing run directly at me and my rickety deer stand. I looked around to see where I might go if I had to take a dump but I couldn't hide fast enough!! It went directly over me a tree-top level and pulled up and let go of countermeasures, about 4 or 5 of them, and then he hit the afterburners!!! I thought my stand was going to disintegrate on the spot. I didn't crap on myself but I did pee!! True story.

Last year I was hunting and saw something caught in the fence. It was fighting something terrible. Pulled up the bino's and saw bigbow(Wes) pulling his pants down, strapping on his velcrow gloves and knee high rubber boots. Felt bad for that sheep. But, what do you do?!?

Of course he swears he was just helping it over the fence!

I used to hunt around Eden and apparently, there's an AFB around there. A big ridge snaked through the lease and the Apache pilots like to buzz it at tree-top level. If you've been there, you know tree-top ain't very high. Every once in a while, I'd be hunting along the top of the ridge when one would pass over me. Since they always went right over my head, I assume they could see me ahead of time. Usually, the pilot would cock his head over and nod at me. I thought that was just about the coolest thing I ever saw. When one of those passes over your head at 50 feet or less, it's guaranteed to give you goosebumps. I don't know how fast they can fly but they would be nose-down and haulin a$$.

Yes I hear ya!! Man that was a wake up call for me. I can remember immediately looking out over the area to see if anything had gotten spooked but all was frozen stiff kinda like me!!
