Remi or vangaurd in heavy gloves is rough... My 257 has a very stiff action, but the kampfire knob...makes up for it. My browning has a smoother action then all my remi's, but doesn't shoot near as good . Now custom remi like stellar....no contest...nothing touches them. not a savage man either sighted my buddies 270 in for him first three shots ever out of the gun where under an inch....but the stock felt like a hollow plastic whoofal ball... bat.... drove me nuts handling it, thought it was going to crush after every shot. And action was very loose...my dads savage 338 felt same way again if someone laid million dollars on the table and six boxes of different mfg rifles and said which gun will be the most accurate production gun...I would pick styer then browning What I don't like about styer is forearm area fells real weak, and flexs....and good luck finding a 26 barrel and you can't re-barrel them. The biggest problem with styer and browning is if you did get a bad shooter...not much tweeking you can do to get them to shoot better. Browning really?

Reality is I will never own either! Then you'll never make an informed statement. If you haven't collected your own data you're just making assumptions. Sure they may be ugly in your eyes but in others not so much. I'm fine with your brand loyalty but you harping on anything but a M700 is getting old when you don't own a M700. You have an action and that's it.

I don't value your opinions much either.

Who cares about the action when you only need ONE shot.

Got an email flier from Midway today. The Boyds and Bell and Carlson stocks on sale, but the B&C has a 90 day backorder (for those non-Remmy owners ).

Put it in after market stock and it will be good to go Honestly, I've thought about it, but can't justify it. The stock it's in is very pretty (wooden). Come time when I have the barrel bedded (most likely this summer), I'll probably switch over to a synthetic. I want to get a zeiss for it too. The B&L leaves me wanting more.
