When doing a greeting call, do I need to vocalize like on quacks? I cant quite figure it out.

No, a regular greeting call. I guess its the one you use when you see the ducks headed for you. I dont know if I need to vocalize or not.

When they are headed toward me, you can hear crickets.

If you are calling, they might pinpoint you instead of the decoys.

Try calling only when they are going away or "on the corners."

up X2 If they are heading in, and always losing altitude while flairing, i just let them move in. If they start gaining altitude, then i use the ubove tactic.

And yes you still need to "say something" into the call if that's what you meant by vocalize. Essentially you're just stringing quacks together, coming down in tone with each one and with a specific susie cadence...
