PMAGs rock - huge difference from steel mags. I've trusted my life with them. Link below is a bit biased since its from the manufactor, but still has a lot of good info as well as what they did to test it.

http://www.magpul-pts.com/pdfs/PMAGPress.pdf

"Will the PMAG™ melt under the extreme heat of sustained fully-automatic fire?
One PMAG™ has been tested in extreme heat/sustained automatic fire and demonstrated no melt failure.
PMAGs™ loaded into a hot gun have run without malfunctioning or showing any signs of strength loss.
PMAGs™ have also endured full-auto suppressed fire without ill effects."

"I saw a video of a PMAG™ being run over by a truck. Is this test for real?
Yes, the PMAG™ was actually run over with a truck. All test samples were randomly selected from
shipping inventory. The vehicle belongs to a Magpul employee and no changes were made to the vehicle
between tests. Video of the truck test may be found on various online video distribution outlets.

They are made so its easy to pull them out of your vest etc. Before these, you made a similar contraption out of paracord and 100MPH tape.

Really not sure what I want at this point. I am just learning as much as I can about these things right now so that I can make a educated decison on what I want later.

I bought one about 10 years ago and really didnt have a clue what I was doing. I love the one I bought but its just too big and heavy for what I use it for so I dont want to make another mistake like that.

Pretty much all I know at this point is that I want a 16" barrel. Still trying to figure out all the other details.

So when zombies come for you, you'll be able to yank them out of your Molle vest while combat gliding in your living room. clap

It's kind of a generic moniker for some make believe invasion of zombies, russians, chinese, etc. Basically whatever foe those that turn an AR-15 into a 45 lb. log could dream up.

the pmags are great they cost a little more at 15 dollars instead of 8 dollars but they are very durable. they only thing you have to worry about it the lips cracking. 1 of mine has cracked at like 2 years of extreme use. and by that i mean reloaded 30 times a week and kept loaded in between shooting sessions. i have a few metal mags and the only reason i still have them is because they were easy to find locally when i needed them by the end of the day.

Went and checked them out. Couldn't find one in less than 20 rounds. Do they make a 5 or 10?

all ive seen are 20 round pmags with a spacer in them that only allows 10 rounds. if you want the low profile it doesnt help but if you are in restricted states then it works
