Magnum all the way! I live south of houston and Magnum feeders in stafford is the only way to go. The guy is great and really stands behind his products. Right now you can get a 200 pound plastic feeder barrel, legs and programmable timer/motor for up to 7 feeding times with adjustable run times with four bags of corn for 89.99. I didn't even need one but picked one up for a spare. They also have a website, look them up! I looked it up and can't find the 89.99 special. I would love to get one.

Triple C feeders. About 5 of us on my lease have been running them for 5-6 years with solar pannels, and have had to do ZERO maintenance on any of them, and they are very easy to use. Show shows the time temp, lbs of corn used and many other functions.

I've got some Monarchs I've used for 11 years. IMO they are the best out there. I have 9 on the ranch from 11 years old to 5 years old. Had a motor go out in one 3 years ago. Replaced it and no more problems....JMO

I switched all my spincast out for magnum 12v w/solar panels last year. I now have nothing but Magnum on my feeders. Had nothing but problems with spincast product. Parts were very expensive. I have nothing but good things to say about Magnum. I live nearby so I drive by Academy to run over there to buy my stuff from them. JustinT, I think you would like the 12v better but I have a couple of 6v and they work fine as well.

If so their warranty is pretty good IMO. My timer went out and I drove to their main office and they replaced it. I do agree on getting the solar panel.

This weekend, I actually took a hunting buddy's old 12v Magnum and hooked it up to another feeder, with solar charger. That thing SLINGS the corn. Would not want to be within a 30 foot radius of that thing when it goes off.

Yeah, it stings pretty good when you get hit by that thing slinging corn. Make sure to have your glasses on, lol. It might put out an eye.

the ones I have....not magnum... covers the entire foodplots they are in... but it shows how lazy our deer are, they go right under it where the corn hits the solar panel bracket and falls down.

Yeah there always seems to be a little bit more concentration of corn right under the feed and you can bet my deer are going to go there first because they are as lazy as I am.

never really had much of a problem with it, but the deer need to change their tune and start eating it all since we've had some hogs move in.

rtp, not sure where your from but the magnum company is based out of Stafford, Texas, and the owner is a stand up guy who backs up his product. Thats why I only deal with him and put their name out there as much as I can.

"On Time" feeders out of Ruston LA. work great. Have one with the solar panel built on it and it works great. Had it for 5 years now and will need to change batteries soon for the first time

FYI - The Magnum digital 6volt feeders can be hooked up to a 12 volt battery. Magnum uses the same circuitry and motor for both. Academy forces them to "sell" them 12 and 6 volt feeders. Only problem is that a 12 volt battery doesn't fit in the case. I drilled a hole through the plastic case and fed the wires through to the battery along wiht a 12 volt solar charger. Since I have varmint guards on my feeders, i just leave the battery in the guard.

HCR out of Burnet also makes good feeders/motors/timers. Reliable, simple, durable.... I've switched out all of my motors and most timers to theirs and have been happy. http://hcrelectronics.com/
