Went out yesterday to check game feeder and hog trap. Feeder was empty but had a trap full of pigs. Six to be exact. Went to get trailer and wouldn't you know it a flat. So wait till this morning to get flat fixed and go pick up pigs. Getting back to trap saw one dead out in pasture and trap empty. Have no idea who but whoever was stole pigs and even took my game camera. On top af aal that they even left all my gates open, just lucky cows were locked out of this pasture. Hope I never catch them on place again.

Wow, that's unbelievable. Looks like you are gonna be needing a game cam for the game cam, and a game cam hidden up by your gates. It only needs to be high enough to see a licence plate. I hate thieves.

What gets me to think these/this is not too bright a person is 1. they did that period and 2. they left 1 dead in the field like a calling card just to piss you off. Be sure to check the ENTIRE place out to make sure nothing else is missing...cattle, feeders, blinds, etc. I agree with the statement above, time to start hunting "something else" now.

All I got to say is WORTHLESS... I hate thieves. People work so they can have their "play toys". I know pigs aren't play toys, but that is besides the point. You spend your money for feed, and for the trap to catch the pigs, and the game cam to take pics of them. They need to be hung.

Notify the county game warden and provide him with all of the details.You would be amazed how much they can find out with an investigation. There may be a string of thefts in the area and they may already have suspects to investigate.

Get yourself a board and drive some big ole thick screws through it, and leave it hidden where they would drive up to the trap. You'll know it's there, and you can get out and move it when you go to check the trap/feeder (or drive around it), but anyone driving in to steal stuff will wind up with at least two flat tires.
My cousin had to do that on his deer lease. Someone came in and did donuts in their food plots and stole their game cameras. He shares the lease with a Vietnam vet, and they put in lots of booby traps so that anyone doing again will wind up with flat tires and/or hurt. Maybe not killed, but hurt bad enough to not mess with it any more.

I like these types of ideas but it's best to leave them off of public forums. It's against the law to do booby traps

Best advice is to get a game cam for your game cam, as mentioned by a previous poster. Thieves are stupid. They will steal one and not see the other. This works especially well in areas like East Texas where meth heads burglarize and steal almost anything not bolted down.
Your second game cam does not even need to be of high quality. A blurry image of a vehicle is all you need to show law enforcement. Usually they are familiar with the subjects in question already.
I have my second game cam set out near a gate, zip tied to a tree where it will take the picture of the rear of a vehicle as it is entering my property.

one solution is to get a PLOTWATCHER. This camera takes a pic every 5 seconds without a trigger target. It then marries the pics to do a movie. It doesnt flash and it can be set 50 or even 100 yards away. No theive will look that far for a trail camera. The only thing is this camera only works during daylight but how many theives go stumbling around during the night just to find something to steal. AAfter using one of these in west texas and seeing how unique they worked I will be getting more.
 Isn't the best way to save face to keep the lower part shut?

best advice i can give you is get the game warden involved. you can put out boards with nails screws etc but all the person is gonna do is get even. they will cut your fence steal more stuff maybe apt to shoot your cows etc etc. the best thing to do is let the game warden handle the deal and they wont come back. if any thing happens after wards then the law has a suspect for it to fall back on. best of luck to you.

i hate a thief!!!!! just last week there were several people who had hogs taken out of traps, they finaly caught him and the charge was livestock theft, if they can prove up to a certain dollar amount it will be a felony!!!! i hope you catch him/them!!!!!
