Just got the BPS Fall Classic flyer and wondered if you saw anything that looked like a deal you couldn't pass on.

With the temp 64 this morning and signs of any early rut(based on a recent OT thread)and now the fall classic-hunting season will be here before you know it!

The $100 feeder does not seem like a bad deal with all it comes with.

BPS is acting like they arent making any money. Lately it seems like if you want to get a good deal on something you have to spend a hundred dollars to get the discount. Ive about had it with their "SALES"

I was there last week (garland) and if you were in the service or retired you got 10% off.

When I was checking out they said all you need is your military ID. I told her I served my time but wasnt a lifer etc. She said as long as you have a military ID. Guess It doesnt hurt to carry mine that expired in 92.

What kind of deals are they having on guns? It doesnt say on line.

Bass Pro has gone down hill lately. I guess they learned their lesson about offering the cheap corn last year because they certainly put an end to that. I went with a friend out to the Garland store last night and picked up some 3.1 MP game cams at the sale price on Friday. No crowds at all really and no parking nightmare either. I was kind of shocked that they said they were honoring the sale prices a day early too.

I went today (Garland), and I'm pretty peeved.

Maybe someone here can help me.

Is there any store that "stocks" camo clothes for tall skinny people? Not Sportsman's Warehouse, BPS, Cabela's, or Academy. Every type of clothing they have is available for short people, fat people, and short fat people. Even tall fat people! But nothing for tall skinny people!

I am 6'3" tall, and weigh 180lbs. I wear 32x36 pants, and medium tall shirts. I dare anyone to find either of those in any of the stores I listed above. I can buy them out of catalogs all day long, but damned if I can get them in the retail locations when I need them.

I figured that they might actually have some come in for the big sale, but all they had was the same old stuff, for the same old puss gut people. What really gets me though, is the fact that half of their own employees can't even find clothes in the store to fit them either. Because they're young guys, for the most part, who are tall and lanky.

I comment on it to someone every time I'm in one of these places about the oversight on their part, and most seem like they could care less if I get what I want. When I said something to the girl running the clothing dept at SW, she said the reason they don't have any is because they sell out as soon as they hit the rack. Either that's not true, or some has about the worst business sense that I've ever seen. Common sense says that if you can't keep it on the rack, get rid of some of the 6XL's (which you can find in ample amounts of just about any type of garment) and put more MT's on the rack.

I guess I could go on a Mickey D's and Twinky diet. Wash that down with a case of Bud a day, all while watching every Football, Baseball, Hockey, and Basketball game on TV, then I wouldn't have any problems (finding clothes anyway).

Sorry about the rant. But it ticks me off, and I'm getting ready to start emailing them about it, and ripping them on every website I can find. Talking to the store personnel is getting me nowhere. And if your a puss gutted hunter, sorry if this post offends you, that is not it's intention at all.

But yeah, there was a lot of people there today. parking was not very bad though. And Checkout went very quickly. Typical mega-store experience otherwise.

Had a great time myself. Went there to the gun show and stopped back by on the way home.

Everybody was friendly. I even gave blood:}

Going back Thursday for the shotgun shell sale.

I did the same thing. Made for a nice morning.

I do get peeved at the sales staff, especially all then nimrods at the gun/optics counter. None of them seem to have any knowledge about any of the products.

i went today and got me 5 of the moultrie 3.1 game cameras for $69. and i got one of the $99 feeders. i put it together. it came with the feeder, legs, solar panel, 6v rechargeable battery, and varmint buster. FYI the varmint buster puts out quite a shock(i tried it). it was well worth the money....now i wish i woulda got a couple more.i think i am goin back tomorrow and get another one.

I only shop at BPS if I need ammo or something small. Any big purchase I send through cabelas. I would rather drive the 2 hour round trip to Cabelas, than the 10 minutes to BPS. Although i do like the seafood resturant.

I got mine... by the way. Those do not come with the accutrigger. Yes the add says it and yes the sales guy said it did but when I got home and took off the red trigger guard... guess what... no accutrigger. Turns out Savage does not make that model with an accutrigger. I called the store to complain and talked with a manager I just wanted a 30-06 scope package I didn't care about the clip or internal box. He said they had it in 7mag for 329. but for the 30-06 it would be 499.98. Oh well I still have a new gun and a free case.

Check out the 'Savage Arms' topic on the 'Rifle,Shotguns and Handguns' forum.

There was a discussion about that BPS combination and the fact that the accutrigger is not available on the clip version but is available on the internal box magazine version.

Let us know how your rifle performs. Sounds like the Savages are very accurate rifles with any trigger.

Good luck.
