Just thought I'd share this afternoon's success. Because of the Whitetail season, the free-range Axis here in Kendall Co. have been super spooky, and this guy didn't come out until last light, then just poked his nose out of the woods. I used my Savage 110 .25-06, 116 gr. Hornady BTSP, and my brand new Bog Pod tripod (got it for xmas). Scope is a Simmons 3-9 X 40. Only an 80 yard shot, didn't stretch the Savage's capabilities by any means LOL. The bullet went right through the shoulder and the spine and lodged under the skin of the opposite shoulder-he didn't feel a thing.

Thanks! This is my sixth in the last three years. They are so challenging to hunt, and taste so good, that I rarely hunt whitetail any more....
