Sometimes I amaze myself at just what I'll do for some duckshammer It's been pretty tough in centex esp. with water levels diminishing. So this is what happens when you get tired of wasting your time on the same ol' crappy lakes.

The good thing is it was worth it! I found some good numbers of birds, and we're gonna get after 'em when I get back into town banana

Luckily I had my buddy meet me there to go with me rather than just come to my house and ride with. It took no time to get out. The problem was I had to get in so far in order to get the boat off. Getting the boat on the trailer and out was no problem.

rofl It looks like an anti-theft parking manuever. To much work for a thief to get that truck out.

Shoulda bought a Ford bolt

grin

You need to get you a slick bottom mud boat so you can just push it off the trailer and not get that back tire down so far. One of the first tricks I learned in the PD is you don't have to have the bunks in the water to launch. Never thought it would work but as long as you can get the bunks below the nose of the boat it will go back on there. Pretty cool little trick.

Good luck and hope y'all whack'em!

Here is another trick. Take you anchor and throw it as far as you can into the river. Back the boat as close to the river as you can end then tie the anchor to the rear. Then pull forward a little. THen back up and re-tie the anchor. When you have the boat far enough off the trailer one guy can hold the boat on the trailer as you back up again. then just spill the boat off the trailer. As you pull forward the boat will hang onto the ground and then you can just push it back into the water.

yeah, yeah, yeah! I had a Chevy, now the Dodge, Ford is probably nextup Just want to try 'em all(kind of like womengrin) And a PD boat is on the list too! I want to put an outboard back on that boat. I will say it performs A LOT better than I expected, and from everything I read with it not being a true flat bottom.

rofl

That ain't no lie, and I really dislike BFGs.

But I got that set used for $200 with only 5K miles of wear off of 'em, so I couldn't pass it up and I needed tires BAD.

I'm so tired of getting stuck I often put my truck in 4 wheel drive if just the grass is wet. I've been there and done that enough for my lifetime.

I saw a bunch of ducks on that river last friday, like a couple hundred. I last hunted it two years ago. I have always wanted to go back. I think it's an untapped resource for us. I hit up my spot in Buda this morning, we shot 2. birds kept flairing b/c of my hunting partners ugly mug.

My cabelas waiders are leaking. I bought them 4 months ago. I'm taking them back soon for what I think will become known as the "annual exchange".

rofl is your buddies' name Garrett???

My breathables(also 4 mo. old) have a seam that came undone on the reinforced knee causing a leak I just found on Satbang it's extremely small and slow though, so I'm going to stick them out till after the season.

I guess 4 wheel drive didnt help there huh? Do you just carry a tow rope with you these days? Not a bad idea really.
