I just got back from Scotland and while I was there I went on a stag hunt. It was quite an exciting hunt. They stalk the stag on open mountains that have grass about 8-10inches tall. No cover!! We stalked within about 400 yards of a good group of stag on some how got winded. I was happy with price and the hunt even hough I did not get to shoot a stag we saw about 150 stag. If you go contact the highland fly fishing school and Steven Smith can set you up. I only had one day to hunt but it was great. Try to zoom in on the picture and you can see some good stag. http://s146.photobucket.com/albums/r273/gtbuck/?action=view¤t=Scotland2007SJ016.jpg

I have heard that hunting stag in the highlands is a real challenge. Field and Stream had an article about it a month or two ago and it mentioned including flight the price of a stag hunt was on par with an elk hunt.
It's not skybusting, if you make the shot.

The flight over was 1100 which we were going anyway. The hunt was 395.00 booking fee and the it was another 450.00 for kill fee plus tip and I rented the rifle cause did not want to travel with mine.
