Haha I was the same way at about his age. Just giving him a hard time. Hunting kept me out of a lot of trouble I could have gotten into. I will make sure my future kids are raised hunting.
Congrats on a successful hunt sport.
Gig em and God bless

Good hunt Kemon. Looks like the mojo is still working for you.

Awwww.... Y'all are just heartless. Poor kid! lol... Seriously tho', give him a break - he's just wantin to boast on a good hunt. Glad to see he's hunting rather than following all the brainless trends most kids flock after these days. Besides, how is he gonna learn if he doesn't experiment?

Nice hunt Kemon86. Yep, some days a mojo is a killer. Some days not. I watched a guy three days in a row set up across the arm of the lake I was on with a single mojo stuck on a stump in deep water and he hunted from his boat. No other decoys I could see, but it was kinda foggy each morning so not certain. I just know we could see that mojo flash from a distance and so could the ducks. Every duck flying down that arm it seemed like made a bee line for that thing. I don't know or don't remember what kind of ducks, but I would imagine some kinds are more attracted to the wing flash than others. It would be interesting to compare some hunting log stats on weather, time of season, and duck species relative to hunting success with those that always use a mojo. Some days, especially clear sunny days I have also seen mojos seem to flare away every duck that came in sight of it.

His first post sounded a little confrontational to me. That being said, I was just giving him a hard time. I'm not really an Alpha Hotel...just on the internet where it's safe... hammer

From what I've seen mojos work better early and when I say early I'm talking early season and early morning. Late season they seem to be more hit and miss...like on the same lines as big spreads. Early morning for about the first 30 minutes or so they seem to draw ducks in better vs later in the morning.
All this is pretty subjective though and because there are 100s of things that factor into a good hunt its hard to really nail down what little things work and don't work. If I were a guide and hunted every day I'd probably be more in tuned.

I don't give a damn what these guys say. I've been puttin' the ducks away this year and I would like to think it's been because we hunt over the mojo early in the morning and then move away from it throughout the morning. I hunt with an old guy about once a week, I'd like to think I've seen a lot too in 10 years of duck hunting, what more can you see?
I'm 24, btw. I know, I look a bit young...

24???? You need to drink more milk!!!!

Congrats on the ducks up

just an FYI there are a few guys on here that their dogs have already chalked up 200 reterives this year. as far as hunting for 10 years.. you would be suprised how much you can learn if you listened.. I learned a ton this year and been duck hunting over 20 years

totally agree- Try MOJO DOVE on ducks- did very well w it early in season-

Now using Hegdon Feeding Mallard- NOTHING LIKE IT

Should work- for 200 bucks

a lil wild though- I use PVC elbow to calm it down a bit- use it in my mallard spred- 1/2 dozen ducks

Rest decoys- my opinion are for direction and confidence

The day I stop learning from the ducks, other hunters, situations... is the day the fun will go out of it. I've gotten some great tips from guys half my age - glad I was willing to listen. Learning and new experiences are part of the adventure for me!
