I'm looking at purchasing a couple of game cameras for the property and am looking for any opinions. $150-200 with AA batteries, SD card slot, night pictures and a quality image is what I'd prefer. But any suggestions on cameras in this price range are welcome.

Thanks
Jchap

Cuddleback capture for 250 with a 50 dollar mail in rebate but it takes 6 D batteries.

I've been looking and it seems the only ones with AA are $250+ so that is not a must have

Bushnell Trophy Cams. Had problems with two of them but bushnell replaced both no questions asked. Have not had a problem after that.

I broke down and bought a Bushnell Trophy Cam last week. I hope it's as good as everyone says they are... I've had lots of people recommend it, but it's $199.

I've got a moultrie 1-45 with the modem and solar/battery charger. All the hardware cost $500. But........it sends pics to my cell phone as well as a site which can be reviewed at home. My lease is about 2.5 hrs away and the roundtrip cost in gas is $50. so it works great for me. You have to subscribe to their service which is reasonable.

I have used several brands and the ones that I recommend are the scoutguard. they are $199 and run off of 8 aa batteries. I used the same set of batteries in Nebraska on trails and captured 1500+ photos.

Isn't the best way to save face to keep the lower part shut?

Buy a 6 volt unit. You will pay alot for the others over time if you do not.

I am curious about this also. Specifically the STC-I430ir or STC-U840ir. The 430 is about $80 at Wal-Mart, and the 840 is about $130. I have some Wal-Mart gift cards, and these two look like the best deals out of what's available from them. Any info is appreciated.

Whatever you do - DO NOT buy a Moultrie. Even the new ones that supposedly fixed their display problems have issues.
Stealth Cam is okay, but some of them are very difficult to program and the batteries dont last but 2 weeks.
I have a Cuddeback IR - paid $199. Have had the camera out since the first of August with no problems. Finally changed the batteries last weekend.

I have a stealth cam and have had no problems and it does take pretty decent pics!!! I think I paid 150 for it at Gander Mtn which costs more than other places!!! I know its an IR but can't think of the model number!!!

Probably the IR540 or I think that is the model number of the one I have. The first one I bought is an awesome camera and the 8C batteries last a long time. I got over 6000 pics on my first set and the second set is still in the camera. That is beggining in July. I bought a second camera b/c I liked the first one so much but it was junk and I returned it.

I am really at a loss on which camera to buy b/c they all get mixed reviews. Look at chasingame.com and they have really good information available. I think my next camera with be either a Bushnell, Scoutgaurd, or I have read some good reviews on Predator.
