That an 11 year old girl on Christmas break would rather sit with her dad in the mud waiting on ducks than sleeping in her warm bed!

She asked me last night if she could go and I said "SURE!!"

At 4:30 she woke me up saying, "Daddy did you forget about us?!" I told her "no we can sleep in a little more when we go to the spot we are heading to today!" When I went to get her up a little later she was asleep on her bed fully clothed ready to go!!

It was an incredible morning having her with me as a few Gadwall cupped into the decoys! She didn't have a gun but she was SO excited when I came up to shoot and took down a couple!

It was a GREAT DAY!!!! Ahhhhh...I love this life!!!!

That's what it's all about right there. Good job! up

Just last night my 10 year old daughter mentioned she wanted to go with me and her 11 year old brother. I couldn't believe it - she is such a girlie girl. I can't wait to get both of them out! She even said she wants to shoot, but she hasn't had any training like her bro. We'll work up to that though...

Mine is a girly girl as well - that is what makes her enthusiasm so impressive!! (It is also why I put so much face black on her...just to get her a little) wink

That's AWESOME! Way to go Dad! My girls love to hunt too and those are my most favorite times in the blind. You think you like to shoot ducks, just wait til she's shootin'. It's an amazing feeling watching them grow into the sport. Enjoy it as much as you can. up

And when they grow up and can tell potential boyfriends hunting stories and outshoot them, it quickly eliminates the riffraff. Mine are in their 20's now and we have many fond memories of hunts productive and unproductive, but all good!

Hmmmmm. 11 years old, likes to go and has no gun. I see the ultimate Christmas present in her future.

Congrats and enjoy her while she's still at an age to be guided in the right direction!
