I try to always wear some sort of ear protection when I shoot. I've lost too much of my hearing ability already. I have the ear muff type but 99% of the time I use the little foam type ear plugs. I can carry those around in my pocket and have them with me all the time. Using anything is better than nothing.

I use them and they work GREAT. If I'm at a range and it gets loud I put my muffs over them.

I think amazon has them. They fit well in the ear, and keep sound out. That's what matters.

I've used four pairs.
My first pair i used on duty, and a running F-16 jet engine went from being insanely loud to a "whirrrr" doing an alarm response. I also used them to shoot a machine gun qualification in a semi-indoor range. 5,000 rounds of 7.62mm on full auto in 2 hours, anytime we weren't firing i heard fine. Everyone else was plugged and muffed and couldn't hear squat at any time. They aren't as good as electronic earpro, but for situations where you need to hear except when you fire and electronic muffs are not workable, they do VERY well. I wear mine hunting.
The only reason I've had more than one pair is the first fell on the floor of a Humvee (no 5 second rule, i wasn't sticking those back in my ears....), the second stays as a backup in my range bag and the other two are in my various sets of bailout bags for hunting/end of the world/whatever.

cool, i got three different model to try it out, at 13 to 14 bucks it ain't too bad, hell, i paid 40 for my muffler and it was just okay, nothing superb or great, as for foam ones, i hated those, takes forever just to shove it in my ear, plastic one with cord r okay, i guess i get what i paid for, hopefully those earpro will serve me well

If you need to hear/shoot, leave the little plug thing out on it's tab. If you need full earplug protection, stick it in.

I wear ear protection when I'm shooting and regret that I always haven't. Who knew? However, when I'm hunting, I don't. I want to hear everything around me and don't figure one shot will be a problem.
Without a sense of urgency, nothing ever happens.
