I've had my CHL for a couple of years now and have only carried a handgun once while outside my home or vehicle. I've thought about carrying my little .380 during the holiday season when it seems you're more likely to need a handgun in public. But perhaps the best reason why I don't is because I simply haven't found a comfortable way to carry it.

Any suggestions for carrying a Bersa .380 that would be both safe and comfortable?

Thanks.

My father-in-law uses a shirt similar to this
http://www.511tactical.com/browse/Home/All-Products/511-Undergear/Concealed-Carry/Holster-Shirt-V-Neck/D/30100/P/1:100:50000:50700:50705/I/40021

He also has one of these

He loves them both - but your best bet is go to a store and just try stuff out and see what works best for you.

When I first got mine I only carried it in my truck. Not anymore, I carry it on me all day everyday. Its useless in my truck.

My friend was robbed in Corpus Christi, and stabbed. His assailant was going in for the final stab when my friend killed him. This was at a gas station, had gun been in truck he would be dead or hurt badly.

I think I've utilized my CHL maybe 6 times in the past 4 years. I just keep my Glock in my truck, but I carry a PP or a PPK if I have to. I like to carry those lil pistols just above my boot in an ankle holster

I carry as much as possible. I can't carry at work but I leave it in my vehicle. If you have a chl use it. There are tons of holster out there to pick from. I carry in the waist band with eithe a galco covert option(glock) or a crossbreed supertuck(sig). Supertuck is really comfortable and like the title implies it is tuckable, you can wear your shirt tucked in if you want/need to.

I'm one of those guys that carry a fullsize 1911 commando in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt with no comfort or concealment issues. However, I'm surrounded by a bunch of non-carrying CHL holders and it drives me insane. Pretty much everyone of my friends that has a CHL carries less than 50% of the time and one carries about 10%, it seems. I kind of feel left hanging if the shtf when we were together. I almost want to just let them fend for themselves if a madman comes a'shootin, lol.

Carry your damned guns and stop making things easier for criminals. I'm only sayin this cause I love you guys. smile

I can't carry at work or school, but 100% of the time i'm not in those places. I carried concealed for 7 yrs more or less 100% of the time and when you need it "it's in the truck or at home" is not the answer.

Twice, i've needed it. Didn't come to swapping lead, but it was seconds from it.

I carry 100% of the time when I'm not at work or going some place that's restricted by law. Why waste the time and money to get your CHL if you're not going go carry? I used a Desantis pancake holster for my Bersa and it worked great. Had it not been for .380 ammo skyrocketing in price post election, I'd still be using the same setup.

Went to Walmart real quick yesterday morning. It was with me. There are no safe places any more.

There are many good holsters out there, just figure out how you want to carry(IWB, OWB) then search for options(leather, kydex). The right holster makes ALL the difference! I used to "carry" only in my truck. Now I carry(on my person) every time I leave the house. It comes down to a decision each person has to make about carrying. When I "re-up'd" my chl last year, I decided to actually carry. I refuse to find myself in a regrettable situation wishing I had my weapon! If it's always on me, I'll never have to worry about that.
BTW, I use a IWB BladeTech holster for my Glock. I carry in the same position everyday, and actually practice drawing. When I go shooting, I always practice drawing/shooting from concealed too.
Good luck w/ your quest to find your perfect holster!

I suggest you go with a smaller handgun you can carry comfortably. A 32 or small 380 pocket pistol you'll carry is a million times better than a bigger gun you wont. I carry 100% of the time. For the last year it has been a Keltec P32 in a Desansis nemesis pocketholster. In the last month, I have switched out to carry a Keltec PF9 in a blackhawk pocket holster. Ive had the 9 for a while now but thought it might be too big for my pocket. Finally tried it and it carries fine in my pocket. Ive tried IWB holster and due to my fatness, they are not comfortable. I dont like other holsters where Id have to keep my jacket on to avoid heavy printing, so an in the pocket gun is the best choice for me. I did try out the Bersa 380 before I got the Pf9 but it was so thick I knew I wouldnt carry it.

Ruger LCP 380. Fits in my pocket. No holster is needed. Never leave the house without it.

Not in Texas it's not about showing off your gun. That will bring a world of hurt to your life here. Don't make one, or more, of us give you the Texas CHL laws lecture, lol.

Jim A, having carried in a pocket holster for years....always use a pocket holster. Keeps the gun oriented correctly, and you won't end up like one of my old teachers, a retired 31 yr police lieutenant with a real interesting scar across his leg when his .25 with no holster went off in his pocket. Some wad of clothing hit the trigger just right.

Never again did he pocket carry without a holster. I learned from his experience and didn't start that way. smile

I agree with the poster above that if you have a CHL and don't carry or leave it in the truck you might as well save your money next time your renewal comes around.

A gun at home or in the truck is useless.

I carry a KelTec P3AT in my right front pocket in a black hawk pocket holster and forget it's there.

I can be liesurly walking along in a parking lot with my hand in my pocket with my index finger slid down next to the slide ready to draw in a blink of an eye if need be. Walking from the truck to the store or vise versa my right hand goes into the pocket now and it's just habit and a comfort to feel the grip of the little pocket rocket.

Get something you'll be comfortable carrying because that is the most important. Like someone said that .45 might stop someone better than a .380 but that .45 in the truck isn't going to stop anyone.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

Whenever I leave the house the wife asked, Do you have your American Express??

Never leave home without out at least two, one on my person, one in the console,,,Occasionally the AR or 12ga. goes along depending on where we are going...

Keep one full box of ammo for each caliber in truck,,,full spare mags and speedloaders also,,,

I always carry except when going into the Courthouse and PD's or SO's.

If I can't carry one of the Sig's because its to hot and I don't have enough garment to cover, I use my LCR and stow the Sig in the Car. After the Courthouse Shooting and the Shooting at my work, I keep my AR with several spare mags for it and the Sig in a bailout bag with a good Trauma/First Aid kit.

I relise you can't prepair for everything, but like the article mentioned its hell mentaly/physicly watching somebody murder people and you relise you could have stopped it. Even when my work said we could not carry, I did its called Concealed carry for a reason. Two years into that job a gentleman came to our facility and killed his Girlfriend then himself. Granted Iwas not there, but everyday I think about how that could have played out differantly if he went inside the building and killed more folks or if somebody had been armed, or if maybee I had been there maybee somethign would have come out differant and I/we would still have Joanna here on Earth.

Like I said its Hell, don't put yourself in these shoe's by leaving your gun at home or in the car to do you no good when you need it the most.
