I have been told there are cougars out here. Is there any truth to this? If so I am going to be looking to mount one this spring

There have been reports of cougar sightings in East Texas but few and far between!!!

I've had property in Cass county since 1962, seen tracks but never seen the cat. Have had bears come into the trash too. Good Luck in spotting one.

I have seen the tracks and heard them scream at night. They are there, but few and far between. Not a high enough concentration that I would try to go hunting for one. Now if I came upon one, that would be another story.

I saw one cross the road in front of me one time about 2 years ago. Other than that, never seen one in the wild. Would be really hard to hunt one for sure.

Been hunting East,tx for a long time. Don't get to upset if 10 years have gone by and you still haven't got your cougar.

There has been one seen twice crossing FM 1861 at the Van Zandt and Henderson County line. There was 7 goats killed in one night about 4 years ago in that same area, i have never seen it but know of two people that have. That was 4 years ago and it hasnt been seen since then to my knowledge.

We live near several thousand acres of state forest and timber land. My family spends a lot of time in the woods around here and we have spotted, on two occasions, a large cat (not Bobcat.) There is a huge difference -- noticeably the size and large cat tail. The first sighting for our household was within 150yds of the cat, the second a little farther away but clearly it was the same type of animal. While we don't have pictures, we are confident in our sighting. Guess we're like the same folks who have seen Bigfoot around here!!!

I have seen one in outside Van on a Highline Rightaway, then another outside Quitman in the Yantis Area. We saw alot of evidence of them on a lease in Carthage but never any sightings.
No I didn't see any Black Panthers, except on the ABC special.

The man that owns the land I hunt on near the Sulpher River in NE Texas told me he saw a Lynx a few weeks ago. I said you mean a BobCat don’t you and he said no, it was a Lynx, the tail was too long and the body to big for a bobcat. I said or you sure it was not a mountain lion / cougar and he said no again, it was a lynx. He is no BS man of his word, 65 years old, and knows the animals in the wild……so who knows……..

saw one in '08 down on the Neches... wasn't but about 80lbs tops if that.....but was sprawled out sunning in the road down at the lease I was on. Has only been seen once since then by one of the guys riding with me to get lunch that day, but he couldn't get it within 100yds of him to try to fling an arrow at it.

the guy that told me about them claims to see them pretty often on his land and has even claimed to walk up on them several times. Maybe I will try once or twice.
