If you want a 5.56 upper , I'd go with the Spike's Tactical I'd get this for $499 delivered. Spike's M4 profile Carbine upper

i just got another 6.8 upper. it was one of my first ar's.. then the .450 bushmaster which i still have. i got rid of my first 6.8 upper for a complete .223, then ended up selling the 223 upper to get another 6.8 cause i like it a little better. mine is only used for hunting, so i dont shoot it a whole lot. its a great round i think, or i wouldnt have gone back to it

I'm a little late getting in on these posts. As of yesterday I purchased a Olympic arms AR15 model K8. This is my first AR. I also asked myself the question of which caliber do I want? I thought about the NATO 7.62x 39 or the 5.56. I'm not well versed in the balistics, however I thought bigger might be better. Either way I stuck with the 5.56 for my own reasons of cost of shooting reloading cabibility and accuracy. http://www.olyarms.com/index.php?page=sh...1&Itemid=37
