I am venturing into the outdoor TV industry! Just moved from Florida to Texas to be a little more centrally located and because the people here are nice as can be. I have a few friends out here that say "If you can make someone from Texas watch it, you have a good show." So, Let me know what you guys want to see and what you don't. Types of animals, Kids, Girls, bow, rifle, etc. etc. Thanks Guys! Mike Killin' IT Outdoors Killin' IT Outdoors Hunting Promo

Personally, I like the bow hunts the best. Mainly watch whitetail and Mule deer hunts, doesn't matter what state they are in. I like to see kids, girls or anyone new to hunting for that matter. I enjoy the ones that have hunters with a story...like any type of service men/women, disabled hunters, donated hunts for the less fortunate, parent/child hunts, etc. I like to hear different perspectives on management practices. Funny, but I like to see people miss sometimes too.
I don't really care much for hunts that seem like there is no effort at all put into them. Hard to believe some of the hunts where there is a guide, two hunters, camera man and two other people "stalking" a deer to within about 80 yards and shooting it.
Good Luck

I really like to see the ordinary man/woman out hunting. No more mentioning sponsors and products during the show. That makes me switch the channel really quick. Save it for the commmercial break. Parent/child first hunts are always cool. Bow, rifle, pistol, handgun...it don't matter. Animals..it really doesn't matter too much to me. I would like to see hog hunts, javelina, quail hunting, whitetail and mule deer hunting.

No more mentioning sponsors and products during the show. . i hate this. they make it seem like with out product X then the success of the hunt would't have been possible. i like seein real POV hunts. I very much enjoy the TTHA videos. used to like monster bucks , but that got over sponsored real quick. in a nutshell, we wanna see good kills and good properties, not product hawking and gimmicks. personally i like watching gun kills over bow kills too.

I dont want to see six hours of scentblocke this and doe piss this and but out that...
Hunting shows used to be entertainment, now they are a huge infomercial and I would rather watch Billy Mays's reruns, at least he isnt taking something I hold near and dear and using it to decieve people and turn a buck.
If you dont kill something on the show it was a waste. If I want to see something not get shot I will pull up a chair to my dinning room window and watch them.
Maybe not for all, but for me I am not fond of heavy metal music, all the new fad terms like bone collecting and all that jazz. Keep it real hunting, love to see kids out doors, make it more about what it should be, people enjoying the outdoors, not an academy sale.

What I like best in a show, is seeing and hearing about the hunter making the preparations for the hunt, i.e. talking with his outfitter, deciding on blind placement based upon the animal activity or what areas to hunt and why, what determines movement patterns, what to look for when aging deer, elk, or other animals being hunted.
We did a little bit of that when I did shows for Academy. These type things being discussed usually will help all hunters from time to time. If something doesn't work, explain why and what are the alternatives.
We are too saturated with husband/wife shows now....everybody squeels & giggles, kissy kissy, and big toothy grins!
What we don't see too often are when sons get to take their dads on hunts. Many of us wish we could still do that today!
We all know SPONSORS are what pay the bills, and every show has got to have them....but when there are more sponsor segments than hunter segments.....es no bueno!
Of course....the hunt GIVE-AWAYS are always super. Anytime a hunter can win a free hunt that's a big plus. There are enough outfitters out there that need the publicity and can afford to give away at least one hunt every so often!
Just some of my thoughts...hope they help!

When she got to it, she broke down and cried like a baby. Then her husband comes up and he gets emotional. I ain't saying everyone has to cry, but some TRUE EMOTION over taking a trophy would be nice. And chicks in tight shirts and jeans, of course.
Mmmm Hmmm

get out of the stupid treestand and hunt something besides whitetails. I've seen it a thousand times. guy sits in treestand. whitetail walks by tree. guy shoots whitetail. guy thanks ten sponsors, five producers, four cameramen, three relatives, two outfitters and a partridge in a pear tree. I got it.
I want to see public land hunts, planned by the people hunting, i want to know why they chose the locations they hunted and of course i want to see them hunt. at least once in a while, so it can be educational. but at a minimum get out of the treestand.

I hate the shows that start out with the first 5 min talking about where and how they're gonna hunt, then commercial, then another 5 min driving or flying to place of the hunt, then commercial and finally in the last 2 min of the show they actually kill something.
How about more footage from stand, more footage of the flora/fauna of the ranch and more footage of the actual hunt. And finally, less infomercial BS. It's annoying that out of a 30 min show there's only about 12 min of actual hunting show and the rest is commercials.
