I use mine as a hog killing machine...  Only mod is an Ultimak system and a Primary Arms Micro Dot...

It's awesome, but the Ultimak clamps directly to the barrel. It's machined so that once tightened firing actually creates tension on the mount (the clamps are canted slightly). I don't know how a handguard mount would fare, but mine has consistently grouped 2" or less through about 300 rounds, some rapid fire. For the money, I cant think of a better mounting system.
Wish I had your stock though, I'm a little tired of the underfolder... I actually wish I could put an ACE M4 fixed stock on there, but the adapter is over $100 and requires significant modification of the rifle. The wobble doesn't bother me that bad...

This is my third stock. Had a wood version of the drag but the grip was too fat so I put a russian side fold on it that stayed for a while until i saw this stock at the show in Tulsa a few weeks ago. Not sure if I like it better or not. I tried mounting scopes to this thing but have had the best luck with iron sights.

I'm gonna start selling Ultimaks man, they just work so dang well. If you're ever up Greenville way give me a shout and you can shoot mine. Rock solid, perfect co-witness, and pretty affordable as well...
The AK wasn't made for a scope. Red dot sights work perfectly if you can get them low enough to the axis of the bore.

how do you like the EOTech on your Ak? what kind of mount do you have? i was thinking about doing the same this on my AK pictured above. it has the tapco gastube cover with a rail to mount an optic
