What are you saving him for? Waiting to see if he grows a G4 on his right beam?

He has two kickers on his left g2 and one on his right g2. I've got him at 6.5 years old. Got to be 7.5. I posted a video of this deer a couple weeks ago. Hes here all the time. And he is still hanging out with that little 10 in front of him

Great example of aging deer in the field, the difference in body size, face, belly is very evident.

What has deer hunting come to? Must be nice to pass on those young 6 1/2 yr. olds.

Lordy, I'm jealous. I would love to be in a stand right now.

I'd take out that old man, he's not going to get much better.

It's the lease rules on age for your trophy deer. Rules are rules.

What if you shoot a buck for 7.5 and find out he is actually 6.5. What happens then? To me, it would be hard to distinguish a 5.5 from a 6.5 from a 7.5. Deer that age over here are unheard of. I pass on many 2.5 yr. olds over here, but I'll never see them as 3.5 yr. olds.

Around fowlerton.

On the age thing we try for a certain age. Shooting for 7.5, you are going to shoot some 6.5 deer. If you shoot for 5, then you will shoot some 4 year olds. This way, trophy deer are almost never shot at 5.5.

Of course the hard part is knowing what month they were born. Unless you helped birth them.
