Alright, I want everyone to give me their opinion on what SOLID color scheme for a rifle stock fits the most different areas (field, wooded, urban, rocky, etc) of the great state of TEXAS the best. FDE/Tan or OD green? I'm not wanting to do any patterns just a solid color. What do you think and why?

I'd say OD green. I figure the grass in Texas spends more time alive then dead.

It depends on what you're trying to blend in with. Lots of difference in East and West Texas terrain and vegetation.

Well, were in the Dallas/Mesquite area if that matters at all.

I say OD Green because in most of my experience things hide better in the dark and in the majority of times when I'm trying to stay hidden it's in the darker areas like shadows.
IMO, lighter colors are only good as background and for highlighting darker areas in a pattern like the tops of objects where the sunlight strikes it and shines. If the lighter colors aren't cover up with darker colors it just seems to really stands out to me. Most of the time the lighter, more solid colors are used more for special purposes so it would make sense that a dark, solid color would be more general purpose.

Last I checked flat DARK earth wasnt a LIGHT color. lol ...but in all honesty, in the dark, if its all matte and doesnt glimmer in moonlight, how much can really be seen, even with some animals heightened night vision?

It's really not about nightvision it's about the ability to distinguish color. Animals (and people) regognize when something is unnatural and out of the ordinary. How many animals do you know in this part of Texas use a tan camouflage?

How many green animals do you see daily compared to tan? Squirrels not included because there camo is specialized because they spend most their time in trees. Unless you plan on climbing up and/or jumping from tree to tree I wouldn't count them.

Why worry about color? Most animals see black and white.

haha try telling that to the millions of dollars the camo industry makes! in fact, very few animals can only see in black and white. most of them see either similar to how we do or they are insensitive/cant see certain colors like reds or greens. kinda similar to people that are color blind. even dogs aren't can see more than black and white, despite popular belief.

as long as you have darker colors(or tan in some parts)and you're not wearing neon green youre fine.... animals respond to movement more than they do color

an animal that is sensitive to green but not reds will catch sight of even darker greens before neon orange. depends on the animal. but youre for sure right about movement, even if it doesnt look out of the ordinary for them, most animals will bolt if they see a "tree" or "brush" move quickly.
