Hunted the lease for the first time these season, had a limit in about 15 minutes, pix below. I just started seeing birds on this lease, last week I scouted it and there was about 30 birds on it, so I figured I would hunt it today. You can see my big blind in the back, and how low the water is…

Last bird retrieve for Molly…

I just used my stool for a layout blind, and molly on the ground. Sat low and still, and smacked them good. Shot 3 doubles, only sent Molly out twice to get birds..

After a quick limit, I went scouting public. See this guy walking up the trail from hunting, we stop and started shooting the BS. I asked him if he posted on the THF, he said he did. I told him I was Guy on there and he said “Oh, you might remember one of my posts, I took a lot of heat on there, I’m the guy that duck hunts on the Waive Runner.” eek2 rofl

Man this guy is really cool, you guys need to be nice to him grin. I asked him if he learned his lesson and he said “Yeah, I wear 2 life vests now." eek2 rofl. Waive runner is in the shop getting fixed. I said what about the legality of this, you can’t drive that thing in the dark. He said you can, you just need a light. He showed me his light, which was busted from the crash. grin

He said that thing will run in a few inches of water when he is flying. I said how do you get through all those stumps, he said “Oh, I fly through there about 40 mph” eek2 eek2 eek2. He said “I know where the canal is, and boaters look at me like I’m crazy”. I said that's because you are. rofl

Hey Charles, good meeting you, you need to get a wetsuit for that thing. up cheers

It is amazing how there are real people behind these screen names. Thanks for the update on this guy I have wondered about him.

It looks like the lease is paying dividends now. Molly's butt must be worn out.

We both hit the sack 6:00PM last night and wolk up 2:00AM this morning all bright-eyed and bushy tailed grin. She was injured on Nov 13t so it is good to have her back, especially on solo hunts, not the same with out her.

Here is the peanut gallary dog pile. I tell yeah tho, boat duck hunting in general scares me, much less a waive runner. I like walk-in myself. grin

He might think that his busted light counts but you can NOT operate a PWC between sunset and sunrise according to Parks and Wildlife Code

Sec. 31.106. PERSONAL WATERCRAFT. (a) No person shall operate a personal watercraft in the following manner or under the following circumstances:
(1) unless each person riding on or towed behind the vessel is wearing a U.S. Coast Guard approved Type I, II, III, or V personal flotation device;
(2) if the vessel is equipped by the manufacturer with a lanyard type engine cutoff switch, unless such lanyard is attached to the person, clothing, or personal flotation device of the operator as appropriate for the vessel involved;
(3) during the period between sunset and sunrise;

It was great meeting you and Molly too, Guy.

When the opportunity arrives for us to meet up for a hunt, we will have to trade secrets. I will teach you the 40mph safe path through the stumps, if you will teach me how to wake up at 2:00am to go hunting; while maintaining the motor skills to shoot 3 sets of doubles. (smile)

It is truly a small world, and even smaller in the field. I got skunked on the birds but made a new friend, so it turned out to be a successful morning.

Aggiedp05, dirt bike (motorcycles) are illegal to drive on the highway. However, you can make a dirt bike street legal if you add lights/turn signals/muffler/etc. By adding lights to my wave runner, I made it legal to run at night. According to TPWD, it is a modified personal watercraft or homemade boat.
