ok guys give me some assistance. i finished my mauser. on problem.....the bolt is hard to close. it glides decnt, so i know it isn't polishing the follower (which i have done already), i know there is resistance on the lift (to [censored] the gun) but as i close it it takes an uncomfortable amount of pressure. could someone tell the the spots to look at for polishing. i have done some reading and am not crrazy about lapping compound and closeing th bolt repeadidly. i think i have one pinch/drag somewhere specific. please help.

Take the rear bolt sleeve assembly/FP/CP off and try without. Depending on what happens I can tell you were to look.

it is smooth without its guts. if i pull the triger and hold it while i cycle it is fine. this leads me to believe it might be the cocking piec grinding on the sear as it locks down. thoughts?

One thing that could be causing this is the new trigger, that is if it is not using the original sear. What could be happening is when you are closing the bolt you are over-cocking the cocking piece; resulting in added tension.

Your not trying to close the bolt on a round without it feeding from the mag are you?

i was sizing brass and backed off the headspace by .002 and was checking. haven't fired it since i got all the modifications done. but that is when i noticed it. i have even tried it empty and it is still tight. but what is the problem with single feeding a mauser? you have my curiosity up now. i do tat at the range with all my guns. ow do you remedy over cocking? i do believe my prolem area is found. i am pretty sure it is the contach between sear and cocking piece. i polished the 2 surfaces and it improved slightly. that leads me to believe that is my issue. can i file alittle bit on the flat side of the cocking piece? and then polish to heck out of the two surfaces? i don't think i want to take any material off the sear.

Most controlled round, mauser claw extractor style guns should be fed from the mag. It wont harm the gun, but it makes it harder to close because that claw extractor is having to snap over the rim of the case. Although some gunsmiths can make modifications to the claw extracor to lessen this issue.

Sorry, I will not give any advice on the sear and cocking piece over a public internet forum. I would take it to a professional at this point...just one of those things.

i believe that the point on the cocking piece that engages the sear need to be filed down a small bit and polished. i am waiting on someone to agree with me before i do it.
