That one ranch house is worth more than our house at home and our ranch put toegether. I guess if I had that much cash I would have to find something to do with it... but I would buy more land.

Even on our mountain trips, we rough it...show up a week or cpl weeks early to get camp set up & get gear lined up. Camping in the tent on those cold nights just can't be beat.

the tent....

We started out sleeping on the bed of a flatbed trailer under the stars, now we have a 40X60 morgan building that we park our travel trailer in, will be building a camp house in half of the building soon though.

When i started hunting down there we all slept in a small metal building. Usually about 15-17 guys down a weekend. Now i can truly say that when i go hunting i upgrade over the current living conditions at my casa.

Absolutely HATE hunting out of a blind. Can't see anything. Archery hunt out of a stand. Other than that, nothing like sitting at the base of a tree and blending in. As for accommodations, the only thing I won't live without is a cot to sleep on (bad back). LOVE early season when you don't have to use a tent. Camp coffee and a fire pit are my idea of heaven.

I just sleep out at night under the stars on just a cot with a sock laying on my chest for warmth. I don't even use a gun....I through rocks, and like it.

Sleep at home. Forty-five minute drive to where I park then 30 minute walk to my tree. I leave my climber there at the tree and it takes about 10 more minutes to get up and settled-in. On "moving day" when I am setting up at a new site, I have to walk 3 times as far as I can't carry my stand and gear and rifle all at one time.

While I have all the luxuries of home in my trailer, I prefer to hunt the hard way. You'll most often find me atop a three-piece ladder stand somewhere on public land, away from the feeders and food plots. However, when the extreme cold or rain sets in, I'm not above sitting in a warm box stand.

some people should just stay home. Yes it would be nice to have everything when your out hunting but you lose the best thing about hunting when you do. I hunt out of a tree. I sleep in a small camper we do have power, I take water with me. My windmill will be fixed soon. The camper keeps us from getting sick in the cold or I would not have it. Just saying it makes it fun. See below pics looks fun that is what hunting is about. My little one will be out with me next year most of the time and I cannot wait.

We either hunt out of a pop up or this converted shipping crate:

I have that exact same shipping crate! Makes an EXCELLENT blind!

I thought I was the only one with push lights LOL!!!

MWS - now that first picture is my idealized view of a hunting camp! I did one time pitch a tent and use that as my base camp.

I have used a tent but most of the time before I got the trailer my truck worked great.

About as difficult as it gets for us is waking up early and braving the cold. There's a two story cabin, lots of beer and food and running water and power.

We have campers on our lease but no running water or electricity.
We run generators sometimes but other than that, it's campfires, lanterns and water from jugs.

Wish I had pics of the first lease I was on as a young "whipper snapper" with my dad. He had been on that lease for almost 30 years before we lost it about 6 years ago. Had no electricity and no running water. It was a huge house with old rock walls. Our room had a wood heater that made it nice and cozy. Hauled water up there that was used for everything from brushing your teeth all the way to cleaning the deer. Had a toilet seat mounted on a small stand that we sat by an oak tree to do your business. We used coleman lanters and then upgraded to small tail lights hooked up to car batteries that put off barely enough light to see where you walked. Yes, we roughed it and I would do it all over again.
