Browning A (or X) - Bolt Medallion. Both super accurate and classy for a good classic hunting round.

Bass Pro has the Winchester Model 70 Featherweight walnut/stainless on sale for $829 in 270 and 30-06. That is my favorite rifle of all time.

Hard to beat a Weatherby Vanguard for around $400, spend the rest on glass.
Remington 700 will be less than $800, some as low as $350.

Ruger M77 hawkeye with the Hogue stock factory option, in stainless with a leupold scope.
You will have the best rifle combo you can have for under a grand if you shop right....and the ruger comes with rings and bases so that will save you $70 right there
