I trap possums, armadillos, and squirrels, but lately a bobcat has been eating my rabbits and chickens. Does anybody know of a cheap bobcat trap? Thanks

If you have your rabbits and chickens in some kind of coup or big cage, either find the hole the bobcat is going in at or cut a temporary hole yourself on the side of the coup. Then place a neck snare right on that hole and you should get whatever is coming in to eat them.
Another alternative is to use a leg iron trap and place small pieces of meat around it. A good trick is to put some feathers or a white paper towel suspended above the leg iron. Bobcats are pretty curious and if they see feathers or similar movement they will come closer to check it out.
Neck snares run about $5 each, A good leg iron is about $20.

Don't put pieces of meat or bait around any foot-hold trap, you will only attract the attention to the trap site as opposed to placing a lure or sight attractant BEYOND the covered trap to keep the animals attention on that.
Placing bits of bait or meat will only attract crows, hawks and other species to the trap site which will steal the bait or get caught (definite no-no on the hawks) and you want to be specie specific.
Population Control - 'Leg iron trap' you mean a steel trap or a foot-hold trap. No traps hold the leg and that only gives an impression to those who do not trap or can will take that steel traps catch or hold the leg which they do not.

Put a baited live trap around the area. That way you don't have to mess with shooting it near your chickens. I'm pretty sure you can get them at tractor supply.

i use laminated jaw traps and have caught coyotes and cats above the paw pad but not very often does that happen. so technically it can be called a leg hold trap. the term leg hold is not used anymore. its just called foot hold now.

Duke makes a cage trap for @ $65. A little bobcat gland lure and urine inside and you should be good. A foothold would get the job done as well. Snares are the cheapest route though.
