i cant really answer your question but i killed a red fox here in van zandt county 3 years ago and had it mounted. There has been a few more seen in the same area i killed mine but its likely that there is a family of reds in that particular area. I called mine in with a mini blaster at night.

I used to see them all the time when I lived in Stephenville.

we see them pretty regular around Nacogdoches...there are two that lay up around one of our hay rings when the cows aren't there feeding.

No, but there are "pockets" of them around the state.

"Distribution in Texas: Introduced in eastern and central parts of state (1895). Now ranges across central Texas from eastern part of the state to central Trans-Pecos region."

I personally know there are reds in Mason, Edwards, Real, Gillespie, Coke, Crockett, and Pecos Counties.

Bob

My calling partner took this one two weeks ago in Pecos County near Iraan.

Seen them in Calvert,Tx growing up. On my current lease in Nacogdoches I have yet to have a confirmed sighting of a red....just tons of greys.

There is a couple that live behind my dads house, I thought about popping one to have it mounted. But the way I see it is why shoot it when they might make a bunch more.
