So I harvested a doe yesterday morning. 28 yard shot in the boiler maker, and saw her fold 40 yards from my box. Waited about an hour to ensure she expired, and something decided to have breakfast.... Needless to say, Feb will be predator time!!!!

All I see is a photo of some grass. That stalled me for a minute, too. It's a video so you gotta click on the picture to watch. Amazing that it took her in daylight.

Thats what I'm gonna do!! Get me a hog leg, and if I loose a deer, I'll just find a good place, make a bunch of hog tracks and say the hogs eat it..Brilliant!.....LOL!!!..You know I am just joshing you. That would be a bummer to take a deer, try and be "ethical" enough to wait so the deer can die...and then have it ripped away by some lousy predator. Well, I guess thats the wild for ya..ain't it great. and yes, I'd be doing some predator hunting too. Especially hogs. They can make short work of a dead deer and leave nothing behind.

I know they are strong, but didn't think they could drag something that is 3 to 4x their weight.

Something I don't understand. The deer left a good blood trail that you followed on tape for 2 1/2 minutes, you said you saw the doe fold and not get up. So did the cat or coyote eat part of the deer right after you shot it during your walk from shot to game?

Hogs. They will clean it all up. I agree with Passthru. This sounds like wild hogs. When I was about 15 or 16, I shot a boar that would go about 300lbs. We were 800 yards from the truck over the san dunes. The next day, we went out to take a look at the hog, and there were nothing but hog tracks. We didnt even see a hair!no bones, no skull, no blood, no sign of dragging. just hog tracks!

Coyotes. They go for the hams first. Had it happen on multiple occasions. Hogs would have done more damage to the carcass. Hogs can strip a carcass to nothing more that bones in a very short time.

Like Cowboy said im betting coyotes I have always heard and seen them go for the hams on anything first. I have always seen hogs go right into the stomach first but who knows for it to have happened right in front of you she might have gotten up and run a little ways and a bobcat or something came by and got it a mouth full.

What I did leave out, there was a pile of dog crap right next to her. Hard to see on the camera. I taped the blood trail after I found her. Waited in the blind for a little over an hour after I released the arrow. Saw her fold up, but had brush covering her up partially.

And you did not hear anything. Did you take a nap or go get breakfast. You should of heard that doe being dragged. Listening to you walk it sure sounds loud. A big cat can pick up a doe and walk with it but if you are in a quite area you sould have heard the cat dragging the doe. I would say no way did a coyote or a bobcat do this look at the video the blood sure is high on the the down limb. Good luck on getting your thief it should be easy if this guy is moving around like that.

Coyotes, they always eat from the rear first.
Coyotes, especially a couple of them can easily drag a deer several yards with no problem. I've seen them do it. In fact I saw one by itself drag a dead doe on the side of a road propably 20 ft.

Drag yes. Carry over a limb that looks around 12" high without breaking the limb maybe but I would say nope. I guess anything is possible (alien crash at Roswell)

With a decent shot, a deer should bleed out and die in 15 minutes.
