So I call my dad around noon today to give him the good news, I got my duck boat back in operations, and he drops the bomb on me...
"I heard 8 shots this morning"
I said 'WHATT?!?"
so then I asked him if he called the GW and he said NO. After a short talk, he decided he's going to call if they shoot again tomorrow. He lives on Lake Lewisville, and as we all know the duck are on break until next saturday.
Anyone know who the GW is for denton county??
I've got Chip Daigle in my phone.

Where at on the lake? I'm within earshot of the lake too. Sometimes I hear shooting further up the lake from me, but it's small bore rifles, I'm pretty sure. I hear it mostly in the afternoon though.

it makes me so mad those dads would do that to their kids. I would call the GW tonight and have him out there first thing tomorrow morning!

Yep, I have heard that guy shooting when i have been out there hunting. Sounds like he skeet/trap shoots because it's very consistent and even.

We've checked out this area for hunting before in his boat it's literally a few hundred yards from his place. -Matt

It is Snipe season. I normally hunt them during the split. 8 shots heard would mean I got a limit. Ive done the same thing while scouting during the split. Some of the same areas that traditionally hold ducks can be dam good snipe hunting. I even wear all my normal duck hunting gear along with waders and all. To an uninformed person it could look like I was doing something illegal.

actually I was deer hunting on private land that backs up to LL corp property and shot at a bobcat 3 times with buckshot... it could have been me.
