Got these on our cam. Hopefully they leave and we don't run into them getting to and from the blind. Not sure whose dogs they are.

No collars, and they are good sized dogs, and it explains why there is all that corn on the ground. The dogs have chased the deer away and the proof is them showing up at the feeder.

Dogs chase deer for sport and will run them into the ground for no reason other than to chase them and the kill, if they get the deer to lay down, and I would be cautious and armed walking around out there. I had a pack of dogs once where I hunted and one day they ran up on me, and they stood their ground and growled and I fired a shot at them which made them run off.

Had I not had that gun who knows what they might have done as dogs aren't afraid of man, and if you are in their territory they may turn aggressive.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

We are definately carrying while walking around out there and all that corn in the pile was from when we moved the feeder and the deer haven't been hitting it so it just continues to sit there. Definately gonna fire a shot or two to try and get them outta the area if we see them.

Looks like family pets that have gone stray and are now running in a pack! This happened a few years ago up around Breckenridge and local hunters wound up having to kill them because they became VERY aggressive towards humans and they had been seen running not only deer but also young livestock..... Unfortunately you are going to have to shoot them.....

Forgot to mention that about 10 years ago I was a member of a lease in patroon bayou, I was walking back to camp from stand after a morning hunt went a pack of hog dogs (7) came up the road, when they saw me they ran at me. I fired a round from my 270 at the ground but they still kept coming, I dropped my rifle pulled my 40SW and killed the first two at 10ft. the others stooped and started to growl at me. I shot a 3rd dog and the rest ran off. I called the GW and he came to get the dogs, took info off collar and arrested the owner for letting his dogs run loose on our property.....

I NEVER enter the woods without my pistol! you never know who or what you might run into.....

There is a place a couple miles from here (no humans close by) that had 3 guard dogs get loose & start chasing off the deer. I'd SSS in your situation. These that got loose here starting running hunters up trees too.

Bullet is quicker. You will probably only have to kill one or two and the rest will move. Be careful.

Are there any laws against shooting dogs without feeling threatened? I can't see any collars. They are definately a neusance and we will definately shoot if we feel threatened but want to know the laws about shooting a dog.

The local dog pound is next to our place. We've had to shoot dogs from time to time. I've listened to them put dogs down with bats, pipes and .22's. I confronted the guy using the pipes and bats. Thats hard to listen to. They started using a .22 after that. Not sure what the laws are, but if you feel threatened then its dirt nap time!! Good luck!!

X2 Hate to say but about 5 years ago I had to dirt nap the leader of a pack that kept coming onto the ranch. Caught them chasing two does down one day and that was all she wrote. Took the leader out and then I never saw the rest of the pack again.

That's what I was thinking! There's enough corn on the ground to bag it up and put it back in the feeder.

I have the same problem. If they're not wearing collars, I'm afraid they need to go. Not likely that they're anyone's pets.

Yesterday evening, I had a doe and her fawn sprint across the pasture where I was set up. Expecting to see a huge buck chasing them (haha), I raised my rifle and was stunned to see a massive pit bull running behind them. The second dog that followed about 5 sec later got his spine blown out and was not so lucky.

Never have had a problem with dogs on this place, but in the past week I have seen 4 strays. I'm not one to shoot a dog unless I absolutely have to (sick, old, etc) but when negligent owners have Fido chasing does and fawns around, we have a problem.

The laws on shooting dogs only speaks to those that are attacking or about to attack live stock. Deer are wildlife, not live stock and you should contact your local warden or sheriff if you are concerned about the legality of your situation. If you just want to fix it DYI then do so and don't post your the results of your project. It could help you later.

I work hard, drink a little and hunt when I can.

I think I've seen these dogs before. Are you located near the Jack/Parker county line?
