Heading out in the morning. Hope the front doesn't mess it up. It sounds like the deer are moving in the morning till around 9 and then bedding down. I'm going to a new location on the lease that has not been hunted this year. Hope my luck will be better. The last 2 months have not been productive at all. Deer 1 Jim 0
Good luck everyone and stay safe.

I hunted til 11:00 am. this morning. I only saw 8 does and yearlings and that was before sunrise. They were all together, no bucks. I was hoping the front would hold off until later in the morning. It was dead calm when I got in my blind, but it hit before daylight. I was planning on making a day of it, but the wind was too strong. Try again tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about y'alls luck today, but makes me feel better about my decision not to hunt this morning. The next 3 mornings ought to be real good with cold nights and no moon.

I went up to Clay County tonight to try my luck. This season has been tuff for many of us, few deer and many hours in the field. But that is why it’s called hunting and not killing. I got in the stand around 3:30. At 5 a shooter 8 point walks out into the wheat field, at 300 plus yards. So I wait for the deer to start move towards me. Well he is stay in the same area and the light is starting to fade. I take the shot and hit behind him, great miss. I had the right yardage but bad aim, maybe a little buck fever. He starts heading across the field, jumps the fence and starts heading to the feeder. I can’t believe it; I’m going to get another shot. He gets in the feeder pen 120 yards, line up the shot. I didn’t miss this time, one shot and buck down. This is my first Texas Buck. He will go about 120 maybe 125. His spread is 14 ¼ inches and has some nice brow tines. I’m going to get him euro mounted. Have a great weekend and thank God for this great county and the men and women that serve so we can hunt.
Have pics posted.

Hunted Montague Co. Saturday, does and small bucks. The best news is we went to Barton Chapel Sunday evening and deer movement was great compared to the rest of the season. Saw 10 does, no bucks but at least they were moving..

Hunted Sat evening thru Monday morning and movement was better. That is of course relative but at least it is an improvement. Acorns are still falling. They may last all season. ![mad mad](/forum/images/graemlins/default/mad.gif)

I went out for a hunt Sunday evening just west of Jacksboro. Just saw one buck, not huge, but a nice 9 with a couple kickers that didn't quite make an inch. I liked him so I took him. I have not seen much rut activity, but he looked like he was still rutting (big neck, dark wet glands). Mostly all I have seen is small bucks and does. I haven't even seen hogs since mid Oct.
