Im about to head out the door to go get my boy from school and we are headed to the lease for a few days just he and I. When I say school, it is a pre school for 2 days a week. He is 3yro. He has been looking forward to this trip since season started. Hopefully the hunting is better than it has been the last few weeks. Hopefully if things go right, there will be pics when we return up Goodluck to everyone hunting.

Here is the only pic I took of him yesterday checking out the feeder in "HIS" binoculars. It took 30 mins to upload this to photobucket this morning due to poor cell service.

Awesome! I took my 5 year old this last weekend. He sure didn't sit too still but the deer didn't mind. He is already a horn hunter dangit telling me to not shoot the doe but the buck. lol.

Well, we are now back home. We had a good time. I think the boy had fun, sure seemed like it. The hunting was tough. Yesterday after the morning hunt, we did a little fishing. Didnt get any bites, but he had fun trying. I then decided we would try a little critter calling. I went to a spot in the middle of the lease where there is a good vantage point. I set my son behind me and turned the FX3 on Lightning Jack. It wasnt 1 minute and the first yote was on its way. I asked my son if he could see it coming and he said yes he could (he said SHOOT IT daddy). I was trying to get positioned to take the shot as it was coming in, and another yote came in on us at 30 yards. I swung the gun on it and he saw me move and took off. The first yote saw the second yote running off and joined suite. I turned the call off for a minute and began calling the same call and had a 3rd yote come in at 30yards also. As soon as my son saw him he said a little loud "theres another one daddy" and the yote heard him and took off. I managed to get a shot off at it running but missed. I was more worried about my son seeing them than I was shooting. Ill get them next time, and will be a little more prepared. The hunt this morning was the best hunt. I had deer at the feeders from daylight til 10am. The boy was excited to see all the deer. I managed to get a "redneck zoom" pic of the biggest deer we seen.

All in all, it was a great trip for the 2 of us. He told me he had a lot of fun and is already ready to go back again. Hopefully I can get him out there again before the season ends. If not, we WILL go calling after deer season and see if we can get some varmints.

Few men hunt and realize it's not the kill they are after. You've made some memories and a future outdoorsman. Truly Awesome!

Im glad you are getting your chance to enjoy those times with him. Im sure he will think back to them same as you and I have done all those times sitting in stands or driving the backroads together. Looking at there expressions and excitement sure makes you think back to the day you were in his shoes. One of the best memories I have was when we were in the stand with Trey (priceless times with the young ones). Wish I could have been there CONGRAT BUB HAPPY FOR THE BOTH OF YOU
