Just got back from hunting with Mac. Mac and the boys will treat you right. Had a great time and brought back 2 Aoudad. I plan on doing it again in the near future.

Whats the chances of getting some silver and gold rams? I may just have some guys to send you way after all.

Here's a link to the SCI Scoring Sheet for Aoudad that shows what to measure. Essentially, it's the sum of the length of each horn plus the circumference of each horn at the base, 1/4 point, 1/2 point, and 3/4 point.

Here's a link to the SCI page that shows the scores for the various categories for free-range Aoudad. Bronze=115" Silver=131 3/8" Gold=140". Anything under 115" would not involve a trophy fee.

The ranch is about 15 miles north of Leakey, TX. That's about 300 miles west of Houston.

Sorry. Can't do the $500 flat fee. It wouldn't be your mistake, it would be mine. If you tell me that you're looking for a non-trophy Aoudad, then I will do my best to put you on a respectable and mountable, but non-trophy, Aoudad, and if I tell you it's a non-trophy shooter and it ends up being a trophy, you will not owe the trophy fee.

All of that said, we're now booked through the end of January. We will reassess numbers continuously between now and then. If we still feel that there are too many Aoudad hanging around in mid-January, then I will post again at that time.

It's a package deal. The hogs are a freebie add-on with the Aoudad. In fact, the ewe is also a freebie add-on to the Aoudad ram. The non-trophy Aoudad ram is currently half off. In the end, it's still $500 even if you only want the Aoudad ram.

Sorry. I should have been clear. Either myself or Mac will be guiding you. We're not trying to stick it to anyone. We're just trying to manage the game and the Aoudad need to be thinned a bit. No kill/wound = No pay... If you tell me you only want a $500 non-trophy Aoudad, then I'll do my best to find you the best $500 non-trophy Aoudad ram I can find you, and if I tell you it's a shooter and it ends up measuring out a trophy, then you won't be charged a trophy fee.

From looking at trail camera pics from the past couple of weeks, there are two that I feel may make bronze and one that I feel may make silver. I haven't seen anything that I feel will make gold at this point. While this place is highfenced on the north and east sides, it is low fenced on the south and west sides, so we can't really control what comes and goes.

There are several coming into the feeders according to trail camera pics, but it's mostly after dark. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do any night hunting for piggers. I was sick the first day and a half with a nasty stomach bug. I saw several Aoudad Saturday evening. On Sunday morning I had a mature blackbuck at 15 yards that I drew back on just to see if I could, but I didn't shoot him cause we're keeping him for breed stock. Then I hunted with Bill (dukengus) on Sunday evening, Monday, and Tuesday morning for Aoudad.

I'm going back down the 16th-21st. Hoping to fit in some night hunting for hogs then. May even do a little trapping.
