I have never heard of it before but I would be scared that it wouldn’t let the dog cool off through its paws with it on. I know it states its breathable but how breathable is it compared to a paw with none of it on there. Even in the winter here in TX dogs can get overheated if your having a good hunt, especially if you hunting upland.

That would not be a concern for the conditions I am considering it for. A problem I have is when covering a lot of ground in shallow wet marsh, mud flats, and wet muddy fields over extended periods of time. My dogs feet do get somewhat raw and more prone to injury if walking in it for long. Boots are not an option in that environment. I have done well post hunt in these situations with using neosporin or bag balm. I had never heard of musher's either, and though it's main use is for snow, it was something I was told I might want to look at for my purpose.

never heard of it but if it's used on those dogs it should be fine for your use.

I only boot for grass or sand burrs. The problem there in between the toes. I'm nor sure it would protect up there.

Why don't you order some and try it. If it doesn't work, then you could put some on the top rail of your tripod blind so when you doze off your face doesn't stick to the cold metal rail.

pestering John is my favorite hobby............:)

They have a video at Gundog Supply about this product, and I ordered it based on the video.

I have used it a few times when my dogs pads are raw or injured. It seems to work well, but I don't have anything to compare it to. Because it is a salve, it is easy to use and apply - much easier than Tuff Foot for example which is a liquid. It does not cost very much - so I keep a small can in my dog first aid kit. Like you said, I think this is probably a good product for when you are not using boots.
