I know a few guys that have had some trouble with them...triggers or something...can't remember. Overall though they are nice guns. I like how when you load a shell in it somehow automaticly chambers it...kind of a cool feature.

I shoot a SBE II...after a goose hunt my buddy that has a Gold was telling me he wanted to get a SBE as well. I asked him why and he didnt really have any good answer that I can remember.

Have another buddy that isnt all that big into hunting that got one and he loves it.

I have a 3.5 mag and really like it. I will switch to SBE later because the Browning will hang up if I don't clean it after each hunt. I am hard on my equipment. I don't clean Beretta Pintail all season unless it hangs up. The Browning will hang up towards the end of a hunt. I had to shoot it single shot on one hunt because my dog stepped his muddy arse paw right on the reciever and dropped mud in it. I also found if you keep it real clean and use Marvels Mystery oil on the tube under the gas piston it tends to function very well. Other than that problem the Browning is a goose hammering piece of machinery.

there used to be some trouble with all the plastic (especially in the trigger group) on browning golds, but I guess they got it worked out..

the Duck Commder shot Browning because they gave him $$ and guns...then Benelli offered him a deal...now Benelli is giving him $$ and guns......pure business...although I do prefer Benelli...so I think for him and Benelli it was a good partnership

green is good

Now if I could just get Benelli to give me $$ and guns.

Ditto... I have the 3.5 camo, and my Dove gun is a 3". My 3.5 takes a beating during the waterfowl season. It MUST get a good cleaning after the hunt, or the next time out it will not properly eject the empty shells. I keep a can of gun lube in my bag for this. I believe the gas ports can get gummed up a bit causing this. This will force you to either become a better shot on your first round knowing that it may not properly load the second shell.
I have not had any issues with my 3" shotgun. Both are very easy to clean, load, and the recoil is easy on the shoulder. The 3.5" is a heavy gun even though it has synthetic stock.
Beretta makes a quality gun and is slighty cheaper in cost and weight. That would be my next choice.

I have three Browning Golds and one 3.5 BPS too. Love them all and haven't had any trouble in the past three seasons since I got back into hunting. Don't ever use Remington Lube (in the green can) on a Browning Gold because they have trouble in cold weather. Other than that, great guns and well made. My Brownings should last me the rest of my life. Lots of guys use the SBE these days and are very pleased with them.

i have had rem 1187,1100,ben.super black eagle, and this gold is twice the gun of the others, the rem. are to heavy and the sbe well its a good gun dont get me wrong but the choke system on the older ones suck, when i pay $1500 for a waterfowl gun i think they should cover all problems,my choke got stuck 2 gunsmiths couldnt get it out the 2nd sent it to benelli and they charged me SH + geting the choke out but they gave me a new choke which was stainless, after that i got rid of it,and not to mention it took 4 months to get it back,so i bought the gold and never looked back.....

A stuck choke could probably happen to any shotgun that had the choke screwed in really tight and then left for an extended period and maybe not cleaned. My buddy had a Mossberg 835 that the same thing happened to.

The SBE II chokes are all crio treated and pretty high quality I'd say.

the gun had been cleaned,i put tube grease on the choke before i put it in,also those chokes do rust ad pit the new ones are stainless so it must have been a on going flaw that they have changed in the sbe 2.....

Yes they left Browning Sponsorship for Beneli. The Duckmen are business me as well. They would shoot for Mossberg if the money was right....$$$$
