Nice Buck. Stalked one with my 8 yr. old son two weeks ago. It was really exciting for both of us. Can't wait to do it again.

His 11th might not make, but still an awesome first stag.

The stalk was intense! There are zero trees and flat land and we were moving up on them in the same grass you see in the original post. To make it more intense we were directly up wind of him as we made our approach.
I'd like to take this moment to endorse MO Brush, the scent blocker we used probably didn't help much since we had given up for the day and had a smoke while traversing the fields.
Proud of Brother, now he'll spend the rest of his life trying to top that first 300+ lb monster. (The scale pegged at 300 )

I forgot to mention this was a track and stalk. We put up the spotting scope after the first day. I can track a mouse over water.

I got so tickled at him, "Aww he's alright, but he could've been bigger" It really didn't hit him until we got to the processor and looked at all of the other capes and hangers. When we pulled into the loading bay, the other hunters were all grins, until that tail gate opened.
