Well guys I went back home to Arkansas over Thanksgiving to stuff my face and do a little duck slaying. The big cold front that passed through Thanksgiving day not only brought cold weather but appearently a large mass of ducks.

My dad and I hunted a WMA north of Stuttgart and the ducks were there in force. I have never seen so many ducks (and geese) in my life. LST was 6:18 and we had our two man limit by 6:40. Sucks because of the slow hunts we've had in Texas, we shot everything that came into the decoys. As it always happens, the mallards show up right after we limit out. Thankfully, the 12th duck was a mallard drake. Great way to end the hunt (even though it only lasted 30 mins).

Pic below and the day's count:

6 GWT
5 Shovelers
1 Mallard

Nice, yeah figures that the mallards would let the Hollywoods eat all the steel then swoop in when it's safe.

Wasn't born in Texas, but I got there as fast as I could.

That's true, as I have to start back to work tomorrow. It was fun. Ready to do it again!
