Find a bag of decoys? A real close buddy of mine was at lewisville yesterday and left a bag of deeks right at the trailhead by accident. Nice decoys and he'd love to have em back. Ill throw in two hunting trips as a reward for whoever found em. Best of luck.

Same kinda thing happened to me and my huntin bud last week at a different lake. We were the last to walk out of this area that day about 11:30 and it being a fairly long walk, we got hot and i put our hats over his gun barrel. His gun was slung on his shoulder, while everybody else had em in cases. By the time we got back to dry land, he notices the hats are missing. He looks at me and says, i ain't goin back and i was too tired to care.
Long story short, my bud goes back to the area a few days later and someone of the brotherhood (no doubt) has found our hats and left them at the main gate.
Needless to say, i owe you a cold one, whoever you are. My hat was a camo McAlister waxed cotton type and i'm proud to have it back.
Big difference between old huntin caps and a bag of decoys but hopefully the same type of good folk will help you out.

I'm afraid your buddies deeks are gone, someone stoled them. Hey Chill, check your PM, it might have been me that found your hats, 2 of them, left them at the front gate.

The person that picked them up doesn't think they stole them, but instead thinks they found them. Truth of the matter, is they should have left them at the gate, so the owner could come back to retrieve them.

Almost lost a bag of mine yesterday. I foolishly walked away from the tailgate with it down and headed out. If I hadn't doubled back on the same road to go scout another spot for a future hunt I never would have seen it on the side of the road. A couple of road-rashed mallard hens was better than replacing the whole bag, mojo, and rigs...Good luck finding them.

A bag of decoys for a couple hunts sounds like a good deal.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

The person that picked them up doesn't think they stole them, but instead thinks they found them. In my book that is stealing. Didn't say it wasn't. Unfortunately, the person that picked them up is thinking, "wow, found a bag of deeks someone forgot." Instead of thinking, they should leave them there, cause someone is going to drive back for them.

If ya find valuable stuff any where, is the local GW the most sensible choice for calling in and returning the item(s)?
We don't all hunt on lakes with offices everyday.
I had this debate with a hunting buddy at the Old & Lost River off I-10 years back. We were (4 of us)loading the boat at the ramp and Casey, who wasn't helping, picks up what turned out to be a new Beretta 12 gauge. I wanted him to post a note somewhere nearby with his phone number, or call the local GW. That area is also in the Corps of Eng. property. It wasn't my call, but he kept the gun.
And Casey, if you ever read this, I still think that it was a bad choice.

RoadgoesOn,
Sorry, didn't mean to mess with/or rant on about my issue with somebody on your topic. Hope that you get your property back.

I would check the lake office on Monday will be your best chance of getting them back. I'd try this. I know when I find something like that, I either leave it with someone official or leave notice for the owner. I'm afraid to leave things hoping the owner will come back for fear that someone else may steal it in the interim. Good luck - hope you're able to recover everything.

How about putting a temporary sign on a T-post where you found them saying something like ...
"Found a bag of decoys at this spot Sunday 11-21 at 11:00 am. Call to positively identify and come get them. An honest fellow duckhunter."
(I know, I know ... someone will probably steal the sign)
Cappy ... At my side for thirteen years, in my heart forever.
