Quackjack-that vehicle description sounds familiar. I'll be in a white 07 dodge or a 97 maroon dodge. I'll flag you down sometime or private message me your number.

Ddmm- I'm north of you on the opposite side of caradan. My place is on the east side of the road literally opposite of the FM 575 and CR 262 intersection.

If y'all want to arrange a get together, I'm all for it. Theres several other THF members in the area. I'm sitting in a deer blind in Kerr county right now. I'll be back in mills county on Saturday.

PS.....BTHO TU!

Hey quackrjack I have some property a little north of you at Mt. Olive. Also there are 2 wildlife management associations very close by. Take a look at this TPWD map: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/landwater/land/associations/ some of these properties may overlap their boundry map. A good place to start anyway.

Quackrjack, I think we're just a couple miles on up 575. Are you near the railroad car that's used for a storage shed on the right side of 575?
There's a historical marker sign right in front of our place. There's a high fence running along the road. The Uncle that owns the land was pissed at the neighbor across the road for always having day hunters, so he high fence the road way, wanted to make it harder for the deer to cross the road!
We've been working the deer for about 7 years. We try and take about 14 - 16 does per year (were on about 50 acres) and just a couple of decent bucks. My son's pic is on the Texas Big Game awards website for last year. Non-typical that went 159. Made us feel like we're doing something right.

If your around Goldthwaite this weekend, don't forget Saturday night is the Wild Game supper at the civic center. Food is o.k. but that have several raffles going on to support several good causes down there. The boy scouts always have a cooler with lots of goodies.
Everyone on here will drop a few hundred dollars on corn during the season, why not drop a few dollars for those boys!

Peacock- no sir I actually live in western Hamilton county near gentrys mill. I just drive over to caradan to hunt. I can hunt in Hamilton county too just usually hunt at the caradan property. And I'm hunting in Kerr county right now and will hunt young county December 10. I'm deprived of hunting land lol

We need to put a map together to avoid further confusion about where everyone hunts. I won't be at a computer til Monday but I'll work on a map for all of us to use

My father in laws place is the property that circles the soil conservation service site 3 reservoir.

Saw a bunch of deer this weekend and I passed on several good 8's and 10's waiting for my BIG 10 I've been chasing for 4 years. Saw him Friday morning and I was waiting for him to come back out. Long story short my buddy watched as "the big one" hoped our fence and as soon as he hit the ground on the neighbors side BOOM!!! there went MY trophy. I can't even tell you how mad I was.

There has GOT to be some sort of "gentlemans rule" that you don't set up your stand AND feeder 10 feet off a property line. This neighbor has no major trees or grown up areas. just pasture. But he still sets his stand and feeder 10-15 feet off my father in laws property fence. I have personally seen him take 3 good bucks that just hoped over for a second or two with no intention on going anywhere and then my big one I'v been chasing for 4 years this weekend. Talk about disapointed.

Pecan Wells is close, but does not include me. Would any other Caradan area hunters be interested in seeing if the pecan wells assocation would expand to cover us?

YES!! As long as the "jurisriction" would extend down to 2005. We take up half the property between fm 2005 and Caradan. This would be a GREAT thing.

Now that I'm thinking about it, what would it take to start a new Caradan Wildlife Management Association?

I also had the thought to start a Caradan WMA. I see two others are interested. Who else? I'll look more into this and even try to contact some guys in the Pecan Wells WMA to see what they have to say.

Ok my property resides within the boundries of the Simms Creek Wildlife management properties but were not members. We dont own the land, what would we need to do to become members, what are the benefits of becoming members??

My group would sure like to get something started in Caradan. We have the high fence place (only high fenced along 575 frontage) on the west side of Caradan cemetary.

That's the one. Creek runs down the east side. Look out mountain is in the middle of the place.
