I saw a double barrel feeder picture with a platform built on it, has anyone seen this picture?

Sure wish I knew if a tripod with 2" square tubing could support the weight of that filled with protein or corn.

Anyone try it?

I hate toting feed up and down ladders and a frontend loader isn't always around.

I build Winch Feeders and use 2.0" square tubing all the time. It will support ot very easily. Use 14 gauge tubing and when you build you legs DO NOT exceed a 25 degree angle and you will be fine. My units are 14' tall and will stand up to almost anything. Hope this helps.

Not sure I am understanding the question. Are you referring to the picture? That is definitely not 2" in the pic.

2" is over kill in most feeder applications. 1.5 12-14g is more then suitible for any application.

My legs like many winch feeders are a 12' piece of square tubing and yes 1.5" will work. I however build my feeders to stand up to hogs and as I call them Mad Cows. If you walk up to one built out of 1.5" and push on it you can feel it "give" a little you wil not feel that with 2.0". Yes it may cost a little more but you end up with a much better product that will continue to work for a very long time.

12g 1.5" will not give anywhere near as much as 14g 2". The diameter of the material is not where the strength is as much as the wall thickness. 12g 1.5" is probably the same price or even a little more costly as it is sold by weight, not size.

OK, I am not here to argue just try to help. While our approaches are slightly different our objective is the same. Bottom line is either of these materials will work for Kyotee1's aplication. Happy Thanksgiving. Love your Signiture Chopped.

Chopped, think about what you posted.("The diameter of the material is not where the strength is as much as the wall thickness".)So if i use 12ga 1/2 " square tubing, it will be as strong as 14ga 2" square tubing.
