The deer are active during the night right now. But my husband did call me at 9:30 this morning on his way to the gun show in Belton saying a buck is chasing a doe all across the road with his tongue hanging out. So they are chasing no matter what the moon does. But overall we are not seeing any deer during the "normal" hunting times either. It should get better next week I hope.

This weekend was just as bad as last weekend.Need some big cold fronts. Is anyone been seeing deer on oat fields?Seems oats came up early and might have pulled deer off feeders.

It's about as weird as you can get. Had a camera in a pasture with a lot of oak trees--no deer for two weeks on film. Am seeing pretty many deer at other places "away" from the oaks. One field I have planted in wheat and oats is getting alot of activity. But, but, it is a good distance from acorns.

Used to hunt a friends place near Brownwood. He had about 200 acres with almost half in oats.It was nothing to see 50 to 100 deer every evening. The neighboring hunters would drive up and down the county rd to try and keep the deer from crossing over.

I went out Friday evening and Saturday morning and evening and didn't see anything accept a yote and a bobcat. Checked the cameras and not a single picture of a deer either day or night. It's like they just up and left the place. We have corn going in the feeders and food plots that came in really nice. This wind isn't helping any. Looking forward to the cold front hitting here Wednesday sometime. Hope to take of early and hunt from about noon til dark Wednesday.

We sat over oats this morning, and nothing. This was in bosque co., now on the other hand, saw a doe being chased at 11:30 this morning in dublin. Just not normal activity. I was in north central Kansas from the 3rd to the 11th, and deer were not moving like they should be.

I hunted north of Boerne this weekend, and it stunk. Opening weekend saw a lot of activity, but this weekend was dead. Saw a little movement late in the day, but nothing great. I will probably not hunt a full moon and warm weather again. It is always nice to be out hunting, but by 10:00 AM I was starting to think about the things I could have got done this weekend at home.

I am hoping it picks up in a couple of weeks. I am thinking the hunting will be much better with a couple of cold fronts.

Moon didn't hurt as bad as the warm weather snap. Had great movement Thursday but when it warmed up Friday-today it all went back to the night shift. I had 6 doe come in the plot yesterday evening but that was cause the neighbor decided to pick up whatever he shot as soon as he shot. No bucks, well a couple buttons but that's about it.
