Should I buy the scissor style frame, or is it cheaper to make one? Thanks in advance...

with unlimited money buy, if you need other things for hunting the blind can be made for less than $100. If you allready have things like "L" brackets, C-clamps, bolts, gromets, pvc, ply-wood etc. It is cheaper to build and customise. The biggest problem I had was finding one to fit my boat. The one I made cost me only $70 because I used what I had. It is two ply with a tarp for weather under 3-D cammo, this was most expensive.
I will make the same design out of my pontoon's bimi when I get a new one. Here are some pics of the homemade hinges made out of extra parts from window blinds.
